We spent three wonderful days at Koura Lodge, Rotorua from April 1st to 3rd, along with another couple, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip.||||Nestled by the serene waters of Lake Rotorua, the lodge offered a perfect mix of tranquility, comfort, and warm hospitality. We stayed in their spacious suite/apartment accommodation, which featured two large ensuite bedrooms, a generous common hall with a pool table, and a well-equipped kitchen—ideal for relaxed meals and evening gatherings. The private balcony overlooking the lake provided stunning sunrise and sunset views that we’ll never forget.||||The lakeside spa/jacuzzi was a treat after long days of exploring. Fishing and canyoning opportunities are there right from the lodge’s doorstep||||A special word of thanks to our hosts, Arun and Sheryl, whose warmth and friendliness made us feel instantly at home. Their thoughtful touches and genuine hospitality added a personal charm to the entire experience.||||Highly recommended for families, couples, or friends looking for a peaceful yet activity-rich stay in Rotorua. We look forward...
Read moreQuaint. We stayed in room 6 for two nights on our honeymoon. It is a Lodge so is not meant to be modern but more rustic. We thought the woodwork in the room fit that vibe and very much enjoyed a peaceful stay. Rooms 4-8 were in the upper building with a deck and is not lake front, but we liked our deck room & it felt more private. Our building with a kitchenette with a flittered water faucet, 2 larger fridges (small wine fridge in the room), glassware & dishes. We only ran into others around meal times as folks were coming & going. There are designated car spots that correspond with your room which was no issue for us and close to the building door. We very much enjoyed talking with the cook at breakfast and loved the sausage. It felt like a higher end continental breakfast that helped get our busy days going. We enjoyed the hot tub and sauna to ourselves though the Lodge parking seemed to be fully booked. We enjoyed seeing a black swan and black swamphen...
Read moreThe arrogant owner, with an extremely cold and self-righteous attitude, provided almost no service, making it the worst 2-day stay throughout the entire trip in New Zealand.
The room layout is more like a dormitory, with several people sharing a common room. The common room has very basic utensils and there is no timely replenishment. The owner has an unusual insistence on parking, insisting on parking in the space corresponding to your room number. Even if only 2 rooms in the entire hotel are booked, if you do not park in your designated space, even for a minute, you will be evicted by the owner.
Breakfast was okay.
The value for money is extremely low, hoping that this lodge could receive better maintenance and be managed by people who understand business...
