Loved this place. From leaving state highway 2 along Omokoroa road I found this park no problem at all. Time was only accounted for by this great event. For once having turned into the entrance there in front of me lay Omokoroa Kiwi Holiday Park. between events time seemed to tend downwards to nothing, and if you asked me something about this road, I might mention a round about or something. The next event opened up like a peaceful glance into humankind itself, as a genteel man, with a gentle smile welcomed me into the experience of the park. A family business, more than likely. Time slipped by as I went through the motions of pitching the tent and laying out the bedding. It was dry weather, and hot. Maybe these things put a curve on time as it slipped away fast, punctuated by moments of light, stored up in a matrix, for the next thing I found myself doing was taking a swim. The pool was good, and I relaxed in weightlessness as it's forgiving warm waters picked me up once I found the deep end. Ever since dawn of time we as thinking beings have looked to punctuate our lives with good things. And our families'. Time can be accounted for by change in state. I quickly changed and headed out of the park taking in all that I saw. And this was good too and charged my batteries and changed my state and i remember how nice and clean this park really was. I found the road and crossed the busy lanes. I had an ice cream from the new grocery store opposite. The little regular things of everyday life were added to by now, with the holiday spirit. But I can't remember too much of the shop but just that the ice cream was delightful. I walked all the way to the beach. And how time passed so very quickly . The sun was hot, the tar was melting and those things I can remember, but only because that on reaching the beach it was beautiful. The waters were pure and blue with light sparkling in them and I took a swim. This marked time.
I stayed one night in an unpowered site which was, thankfully further away from noisy campervans. From event to event, life points us onward. And the world was punctuated and every event even Christmas points...
Read moreAs a camper in a tent this camp was not satisfactory at all. Full to capacity the ablutions were totally inadequate, the pool was overused and looked it! Far too many people crammed in to tiny tent sites, neighbours on one side had six teen age children plus 2 adults, who had little control there constant noise, radios, phones and general loud language with loads of f... words. At other times there was running around the tents dispite there being an adequate playground on site. This lot were disrespectful and noisy until after 10pm when park management were called! On the other side we had a couple who had with them a tiny TV with what seemed to be a boom box sound system which they had cranked up to the max, not exactly people who go camping to get into nature. A totally disturbing experience at a very high price of $62.00per night. After speaking with management they apoligised, but hang on a minute isn't their responsibility to ensure people in tents respect others by helping create a restful environment ? This park is far too small with tents crammed up it is also a health and safety issue. We have been camping for 5 weeks and never encountered anything like it. A total bummer!! Would never go back. Currently in a very nice camp enjoying nature! What a rip off and a cheek the fees are at...
Read moreHad a bad experience there in February. There was a mental health patient living there he was very threatening the cops had to be called there was a school camp group of kids not far from where this man lived he is known to be threatening and the owner told us not to tell anyone about what happened he knows he is a high risk to the public when he's not on his meds. Least that's what he told us. We will never go back, not a safe place for kids or adults. Lucky the kids were out during the days they were staying, so not to witness to what happened and to be at risk themselves 😡. All about money not safety for the public very rude man (owner ) (Reply). Also the owner knew what the man's mental health status as he gets paid by the health board for accommodation. He has had other residents who chose to move away from the man because of his threating behavior. The man was removed for 3 days and then was taken back to his caravan. Residents told us that he had been removed and brought back in the past. The police were rung only because we asked them to be called, as the man attacked us with a chair and threatening language. The owner didn't care about anyone's safety, seemed to be all about money. This manager needs to go to a customer service course because he's...
