Waihi Pizza, Omokoroa — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

When I was pregnant at the beginning of the year, we frequently brought pizza from here. Every time we paid extra $$ for cheese crust, they’d give us a cheese base instead which tasted cheap & made all the toppings slide off. After the 5th time it happened, I rung in because they’d also forgotten our drink as well, (also not the first time it’s happened), & the Indian guy decides to argue that cheese crust is the base. I told him there were separate options for cheese base, we wanted the cheese in the crust & he hung up on me. Tried calling again & he never picked up again.

Now last week, we decided to give them one last shot. They’re only 3 minutes drive up the road but I didn’t want to take my 2 babies out in the rain so we opted for delivery. 2 pizzas, fries & it came to just under $40. Tell me why it took 90 minutes to get here & the food was stale cold like it was cooked an hour before & just sat out. Never buying from here again & telling everyone I know in Omokoroa to not go to this...

When we first moved to Omokoroa, 7 years ago, we tried Waihi pizza. Decided it was overpriced - domino's quality for premium money.

Then, 2 years, my daughter started getting pizzas from here, and they'd drastically improved, and were really tasty. So, we started ordering regularly.

However, the last 3 or 4 orders have been increasingly disappointing, going back to sub-domino's quality. Toppings are now seriously lacking, and look like they've had an argument with the edge. Our spicy prawn tonight has zero spice - no sign of the siracha. Looks like pizza is off the menu again. Not paying...

Had the margarita pizza and cheesy pizza. The pizza itself is alright. Service is alright and I like how they are employing local kids. It’s a good community shop. However the thing that really got us was this weird after taste and aroma that I can’t quite understand. I think it might be the garlic they use potentially but I’m not sure. Tastes very plastic and not fresh. Really recommend they find out and try switch that up. However the wedges are really yum!
