My partner Lana and I arrived here in August and fell in love with the place. Our initial plan was to spend 2 weeks here and review later to stay on another 2 weeks or not which wasn’t to be after the August 16th lockdown announcement. We were greeted by some very likeable, friendly camp sitters who were very helpful and showed us around the camp. This holiday park is child and animal friendly with the on site farm a delight for children of all ages. With the local supermarket, bottlestore, tavern and newly refurbished wharf being a 2 minute walk down the road makes this place even more likeable. The Cape is 40mins away as is Kaitaia for all your major shopping stores and supermarkets. Anyway, back to the park, very clean and friendly staff who will go out of there way to ensure you enjoy your stay. We would like to thank Jo the camp owner, all staff and people that we have met while being here for the wonderful memories and we just couldn’t recommend this place enough to anyone wanting relaxation and...

Ideal location for exploring the far north at a reasonable price, first day up to the Cape and on the way back the giant sand dunes for sand surfing. We had a self contained unit with a double bed and two singles and a private bathroom. There was a small kitchen area with two electric hotplates and small oven grill below. There was also an art Deco microwave 😂 There was also a shared kitchen. The shared bathrooms and shower's where clean and tidy, with the showers being free with plenty of hot water, but with a 5 minute limit. There is a laundry area, with washing machines and tumble dryer's, these required 2x 2 dollar coin's. WiFi was available, but needed to be paid for online or via the office. We managed to adopt a local cat 🐱 who came scratching at our door 😁 The site supported recycling, with separate bin's for recycling, food waste and general waste. The local 4 square shop had everything we needed for self catering and Honey Bea's takeaway had great fresh fruit Ice...

Stayed: 2nd–5th May | Accommodation: Cottage with Shared Bathroom

We had a fantastic 3-night stay in the Cottage with a shared bathroom. The space was clean, cozy, and well-equipped – we had our own toilet and a small kitchenette with a cooktop, which made it easy to prepare simple meals. Everything worked perfectly.

The shared bathroom facilities were also spotless and had great water pressure. The receptionist was warm, welcoming, and happy to help with anything we needed.

But the real highlight of our stay was Snowy the cat – the sweetest little visitor who came by every night for cuddles. She brought so much joy to our stay and made us feel less homesick for our own pets. We’re still talking about her!

We’d absolutely recommend Pukenui Holiday Home to anyone looking for a peaceful, friendly, and clean place to...

Our standard cabin was well-built and comfortable, with the right balance between practicality and cost. The kitchens, showers and toilets were clean and well maintained. Good showers were perfect at the end of a long dusty or sand day exploring! We had some difficulty putting tent pegs into the ground, in the very dry weather. Service and management was prompt and efficient. The resident animals were delightfully friendly, as were the longer-term guests. This town was a great place to base ourselves from, for exploring the Far North.
