Pukenui Lodge Motel — Hotel in Te Hiku Community

While the outside was maintained well - the inside was different - oven fridge shower microwave were spotless - the kitchen utensils - spotless - the bedding/beds were fixed up nicely - the downside was - upon walking in the front door of the unit we were in we were met with very visible ugly looking stain on the flooring which is in front of the entrance matt- maybe the vinyl flooring was old but there was deep darker stains around the bathroom toilet room area and some parts of the kitchen - maybe the wearing out of the vinyl exposed some of the older flooring underneath the vinyl but it kinda put me off - there was also an unwelcoming odour coming from the bedroom - while everything was placed and fixed up nicely that odour came through in the blankets the sheets the pillows - i am not one to criticise unless its the truth - the service itself - what was delivered to us by reception was wonderful though - very friendly lovely lady who helped us get the room but the room needs proper maintenance to the flooring and that other...

We stayed at this place on a trip to Cape Reinga. Our travel agent told us that it was basic, and there weren't very many properties nearby. To say that we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement! It is a very simple place with dated furniture and amenities, but its cleanliness makes up for everything! The bed was nice and firm, and there was a great view of the Bay. There is a washer for use by guests for free, and a dryer that takes $2 coins. That was a nice amenity. Mark at the front desk told us that across the road there was a liquor store, a grocery store and a restaurant. We took advantage of all of them. I'm writing a separate review for the restaurant, but it was some of the best food that we've had in New Zealand! I highly recommend this lodging for friendliness...

we checked in on last Saturday for 2 nights.the gentleman that processed our check in was very helpful down to earth . very friendly and professional in provi dingus the information that we needed to explore the area and enjoy and have family fun to the max.god bless you and your family sir.thanks very very much. about the hotel its super clean very spacious and comfortable. my family luved it.i will recommend highly to anyone who wishes to stay .lay out and outdoor landscape including the pool and a bbq area.not forgetting the trampoline . also accross the road was a 4square supermarket and a liquor store and a takeaway shop and bar. just an hour to cape reinga from...
