I booked a stay at the Presidential hotel in port harcourt through Chase Bank (@Chase). I selected premier room with breakfast. During my stay, I went down to get breakfast and was told my room did not include a breakfast. I called Chase and they confirmed that my booking included a breakfast. They reached out to their vendor and according to Chase, the vendor also confirmed my booking includes breakfast. I went down to speak to the manager and guest relations. I spoke to a sitting mgr, who was cordial and she took me to the guest relations rep named Ola. I explained the issue and Ola immediate response was unexpected. He immediately became defensive, instead of going into customer relations mode. His response was that it was not their mistake, because they did exactly what Expedia (I’m guessing Chase books through Expedia) sent them. The End. This means regardless of what the customer paid for, Hotel Presidential will not honor it as long as Expedia didn’t send it correctly. He then went on to tell me that I (the customer of Chase, not Expedia) should reach out to Expedia to rectify the problem - not him or Presidential because they don’t have any problems. There’s absolutely no customer retention strategy. Just short-term thinking and no critical thinking. ||I am definitely never staying at the Presidential again because they’re not dependable and there’s no customer retention policy. I am also hesitant to visit any other ChaGoury Group hotels if this is the type of customer relations service that’s provided. To be frank, I’m not sure why this hotel is a 5-star hotel. The hotel interior looks old, the customer relations service is shoddy., The front desk staff is generally polite () but it was no different from the service I would get from a street vendor. Stella with room service is very nice and friendly. However, overall, It’s just not worth it - especially when you never know what you’re actually getting and the hotel has a policy of it’s not our fault - ask a random vendor to solve the problem for you. I don’t see any benefit staying here. I do not recommend. There are other...
Read moreChecking in, the front desk girl was unfriendly and quite frankly rude. We were escorted to our room by a lovey man, who in contrast was kind and very helpful. The room was roomy but the bed was so low to the ground and hard, the chair was low as well. If we were younger it would be ok but if you are of age and have bad knees this will be torture. We found one towel…. A floor mat and that was it for two people. The bathroom was older, which is ok but it was dirty. The water leaked out from the bottom of the pan. Bring hangers if you want your clothes to hang, there is no Iron. Plan on bringing a fan as air conditioning is pre set to a warm setting. Don’t plan on storing anything cold in the mini fridge.., the small food we placed there spoiled. Now understand this is a historical hotel, it’s quite safe and everyone but the front desk girl were so lovely and kind. It’s an old matriarch so know she shows her age. If your expectations are of comfort.. maybe another place would be a better choice. Also bring your own face towels as I was told it’s not a custom here to provide. I however must say the staff were friendly and did all they could to provide a safe place to sleep. The...
