We are so very pleased to have chosen Sakrisoy Gjestegard Manor House (built in the 1880s) for our lodging in the southwest part of the Lofoten Islands. We stayed in Room 6 on the second floor...a beautiful, spotlessly clean and spacious room and very nice private bathroom. The dramatic mountain views from every window were simply spectacular. The manor house had tall ceilings, was immaculately clean and beautifully appointed with wooden beams, pretty curtains and nice light fixtures. A desk, a hairdryer, a small fridge, a TV with English language stations and nice toiletries were provided. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable we have experienced in Norway. This was my third stay at Sakrisøy Gjestegard. Lofoten is my favourite destination in Norway and have been visiting it about 10 times. Sakrisøy/Reine/Hamnøy is the most scenic and beautiful places in Lofoten and I always spend most of the time here.
The true reason why Sakrisøy Gjestegard is one of the very best places to stay in Lofoten is the nice host that works there! - he made us feel so welcome and comfortable all the time.
Our room (Olstind) was very well appointed and spacious, equipped with everything you could want. Scrupulously clean and quiet for a good night sleep. The room had a balcony with beautiful view toward my favourite mountain (Olstind – see my attached photos)
The hotel is always kept spotless both in rooms and the public areas. A huge congratulation to the hard-working host!
I am sure that I will be back again to Sakrisøy Gjestegard on my next visit to Lofoten.
