We are so very pleased to have chosen Sakrisoy Gjestegard Manor House (built in the 1880s) for our lodging in the southwest part of the Lofoten Islands. We stayed in Room 6 on the second floor...a beautiful, spotlessly clean and spacious room and very nice private bathroom. The dramatic mountain views from every window were simply spectacular. The manor house had tall ceilings, was immaculately clean and beautifully appointed with wooden beams, pretty curtains and nice light fixtures. A desk, a hairdryer, a small fridge, a TV with English language stations and nice toiletries were provided. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable we have experienced in Norway. My only slight disappointment was that the room had no drawers nor dressers in which to store clothes and there were only three or four hangers provided. There is a selection of cereals, nuts and cookies along with coffee for breakfast downstairs. However, the hands down best part of the Sakrisoy Gjestegard was cutie pie, JACK, who was very kind and extremely helpful in making recommendations in regard to hiking trail ideas, activities, etc. Jack made our stay extra special and is an amazing ambassador to this manor home. I happily recommend Sakrisoy Gjestegard for lodging in the Reine region of the...

Still my favourite hotel in Lofoten – my third stay.

This was my third stay at Sakrisøy Gjestegard. Lofoten is my favourite destination in Norway and have been visiting it about 10 times. Sakrisøy/Reine/Hamnøy is the most scenic and beautiful places in Lofoten and I always spend most of the time here.

The true reason why Sakrisøy Gjestegard is one of the very best places to stay in Lofoten is the nice host that works there! - he made us feel so welcome and comfortable all the time.

Our room (Olstind) was very well appointed and spacious, equipped with everything you could want. Scrupulously clean and quiet for a good night sleep. The room had a balcony with beautiful view toward my favourite mountain (Olstind – see my attached photos)

The hotel is always kept spotless both in rooms and the public areas. A huge congratulation to the hard-working host!

I am sure that I will be back again to Sakrisøy Gjestegard on my next visit to Lofoten.

We had a fantastic stay at Sakrisøy Gjestegård and are already dreaming of returning. From the moment we arrived, we were met with a warm and genuine welcome from our host, who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a perfect visit. We stayed in the Olstind room, which had a spectacular view of Reine and the surrounding mountains. It truly took our breath away every morning! The room was cozy and well-equipped, featuring a small kitchenette, a private balcony, and a comfortable en-suite bathroom — everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Sakrisøy itself is peaceful and picturesque, the perfect base for exploring Lofoten. The combination of comfort, charm, and incredible natural beauty makes this place truly special. Highly recommended — and without a doubt, we will be back!

This is such a lovely accommodation! The island of Sakrisøy is small and beautiful and this Manor is a focal point. Sitting atop a sma hill the Manor has so much charm. We were in one of the manor rooms with a shared bathroom. Everything was clean and fresh. We were able to use the fridge to store our food and there was a microwave, toaster and kettle to use. They also provided us breakfast foods, like cereal and oatmeal, tea, coffee and milk. It felt like a home away from home! The service was also very friendly. I highly recommend anyone who wants to stay close to Reine, to stay at Sakrisøy Gjestegard. My only surprise was that the parking is right beside some drying stockfish so our car smelled like stockfish after sitting there overnight, but that's life in Lofoten. You get used to it eventually!
