Jaw dropping view. Especially from our room 18. I highly recommend booking the two newly remodeled „deluxe bungalows“ as they have a little private walkway and porch with THE best view. Bungalows 17 & 18 share the outside area. Spacious rooms, big bathrooms and loved the proper oven in the kitchen to make frozen pizza. However there is some room for improvement: The kitchen didn’t feel 100% clean like there was just a faint smell of food radiating from it. A dishwasher would be a very nice touch. Because you’re expected to do all the dishes yourselves in a sink. There is no room service but I guess that’s the concept of a Rorbuer. the upper level got very hot at night and having the window open for cool air is hard with polar day and all the light and wind coming in. However we were so lucky with the weather I guess this was a rare problem for Lofoten. the floor leveled shower didn’t drain properly. So the bathroom got a little flooded every time we showered. This can be fixed and probably we could have asked for it. the blinds don’t completely block out the light. And there is a window right over the bed. Weirdly they did in none of the hotels we stayed in in Norway. One would expect they’d do a better job at this as polar day appears every year. I highly recommend a...
Read moreThe best rorbu location in Lofoten!
I have been visiting beautiful Lofoten several times and found this location to be the best in Lofoten. Take a look at my attached photos and you will understand! The beauty of this place is simply staggering – and in my opinion the most beautiful part of my country!
My wife and I stayed in “Ottarbua” cabin for two nights and I wish I could stay there for at least a week!
The Sakrisøy rorbuer is in a fabulous spot built over the water and with a balcony taking you further out. It was nice to have an outdoor setting so we could sit outside in the lovely sunshine to eat. The genuine old fishermen’s huts have been sympathetically extended and modernised without losing their essential character. The kitchen was well equipped if you wish to cook.
There are rowing boats and a pedalo available free of charge to residents. You can also rent motor boats (NOK750)
And the owner Dagmar is a fantastic host!
We will be back soon!

Read moreThe staff was very friendly and welcoming, they gave us great tips about what to do during our 3 days stay - the best hikes depending on the weather and a very great boat tour allowing us to see orcas!||||The rorbu (cabin) was comfortable and clean, nicely decorated, and had a great view. You will get everything you need there!||||We also ate at the restaurant which was fantastic. We came 30min before the closing time (21h) as we were back from a beautiful (but exhausting hike). And although it was fully booked, they made sure to make us feel welcome and arranged a table for us. They really went out of their way and it was amazing - we had an amazing fish soup, a delicious catch of the day, and crème brulée. The wine was excellent as well (worth mentioning since you'll often get some cartoon box wine if you pick the "house wine" in Norway).||||Amazing location as well with easy access and parking. Truly loved it and would go...
