Reception ||||We book the hotel after 2years This hotel it was the best hotel we used to stay with my family and we used to recommend to everyone and post in the social media. But unfortunately this time the service it was very bad we arrived at 6pm they was no bellboy to help with the lagege we take our lagege by ourselves from the car. ||||During the c/n we request for late c/o for the following day as we have a flight at 8pm but the receptionist did not accept , says that the hotel its very busy, which we understand but we have request to give as even another room we can use to take shower,as we was planning to go for jogging. but also they did not accept . Which I can't understand that they did not have any choice to give us. ||||||The room||||The room was smell humidity, the toilet smells sewege, the Ac in the room was very derty. We request for water call Reception, we have to wait for 25 minutes and again we have to call again , the staff was very rude. They was No apologies we have to walk on the floor to check the hk staff who can give us the water. ||||Restaurant |||| The buffet dinner and breakfast it was very poor the food without test they was No choices and the food was cold and we have informed one of the staff. I don't think that anyone was satisfied with the buffet. Even you can see people they are taking round just to see what they can eat . We have seen buffet in other hotels very limited but the quality of the food make you feel satisfied. But this hotel there is no any single food we eat it was good. ||||||||Swimming pool||When we was swim we found some broken tails inside the swimming pool which it's very dangerous. The staff was cleaning the swimming pool when we was in the pool and pullout the dirty water inside the pool. ||||Spar||||Steam and jacuzzi was amazing but the towel was smells very bad . Read moreExtremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Unprofessional Staff We visited Parkside Plaza Hotel (Casablanca Club) last Friday, September 27, for a dance competition event in which we were official participants. It was our first time at this hotel and club, and sadly, it turned out to be a very disappointing experience, primarily due to the rude and unprofessional behavior of their crew and security staff. Despite clearly being part of the event (we were already in costume and repeatedly informed the staff of our participation), we were constantly told to move from one place to another by different members of the crew and security. Every time we found a spot to wait, someone would approach us and ask us to leave or relocate—without providing any clear reason or designated area for participants. It was confusing, frustrating, and frankly, disrespectful. To make matters worse, our family booked VIP seats in the hopes of enjoying the show, food, and drinks in comfort. However, one of the staff members attempted to charge them double simply because they were a group of more than five people—something that was never mentioned in advance. As participants, we weren't even allowed to sit with them for a few seconds because we "weren’t on the list," despite being clearly part of the event. Out of all the venues we've visited in Oman, this is by far the worst experience we've had, all because of how poorly the staff and security treated us. I’m writing this review to share the unpleasant experience we had during our visit to Cohibar. It was our first time at this hotel and bar, and unfortunately, it left us with a bad impression due to the way an incident was handled by their security staff.
During our visit, a man approached me and asked if I was “free tonight,” which was completely inappropriate and unacceptable. When I informed my husband, he approached the security staff to address the issue. However, instead of handling the situation professionally, the security guard started shouting—at me as a woman and at my husband—escalating the situation unnecessarily and causing a scene.
The focus should have been on dealing with the man who initiated the inappropriate behavior, but instead, we were subjected to poor treatment and unprofessional conduct. It was shocking and deeply disappointing to witness such behavior from the security staff, who are supposed to maintain order and ensure guests feel safe.
Cohibar management, I strongly urge you to provide your security personnel with proper training on how to handle such incidents. They need to learn how to approach situations professionally, de-escalate conflicts, and maintain a respectful demeanor toward all guests.
