Horrible Experience – Avoid This Hotel at All Costs!

More detailed review on behalf of my spouse. See another review with the same name and title.

I deeply regret choosing this hotel for my stay, especially on such an important occasion. The entire experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and completely opposite of what a hospitality service should offer.

No Hot Water for 2.5 Hours – After attending a long ceremony hosted in their own banquet, I was looking forward to a quick shower. Instead, I had to wait 2.5 hours for hot water, completely defeating the purpose of booking a room at the same venue for convenience. Upon raising the issue, the staff showed zero empathy and instead tried to justify their incompetence by showing outdated brochures to explain a so-called “discount.” Subpar and Overpriced Food – The food at their restaurant is well below average and absolutely not worth the price. Soggy fries, stale rice, and a breakfast that was just "ok-ish" at best. If you must eat, save yourself the disappointment and order from Foodpanda instead. Major Security Concern – After room service, the staff left my door open, leading me to believe I had been robbed. Thankfully, nothing was stolen, but such carelessness is completely unacceptable for a hotel. Incompetent Staff & Poor Customer Handling – Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, the staff was defensive and dismissive. Rather than offering an apology for the hot water issue, they tried justifying their pricing with misleading information. Their website clearly stated PKR 28K for the room, but they showed old brochures listing PKR 40K to make their discount seem larger than it was. Contradictory AC Policy – When I complained about the AC not working, I was told that ACs were not available in the entire building due to the Winter/Spring season. Yet, just two hours later, the ACs were running in the same building at my own wedding ceremony. If they could turn them on for the event, why not for the guests staying at the hotel? Unprofessional Behavior from Staff – While waiting for hot water, a staff member thought it was appropriate to joke about using the mini-bar and paying up for it. Given the situation, this was not only untimely but also extremely unprofessional.

What I Liked: The bellboy staff were respectful and genuinely helpful. Room service was quick.

My Advice: If you value your peace of mind, DO NOT choose this hotel. Having traveled extensively, this was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. If you still decide to stay, avoid their restaurant to save both money and disappointment.

To top it all off, after tipping staff ~8K PKR during my one-night stay, I was asked to pay 1K PKR for using the mini-bar—despite not having hot water for 2.5 hours! The audacity is truly unmatched. Hats off to their "customer experience" and "customer satisfaction training"—they truly set new lows.

Would I recommend this hotel?...

Islamabad Hotel is one of the most iconic and longstanding hospitality establishments in the heart of the capital. As a visitor, my experience here was smooth, welcoming, and far above average. The hotel has a classic charm that immediately stands out, and its central location makes it extremely convenient for anyone looking to explore the city or attend business meetings around government and commercial zones.

From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted with a warm reception and professional service. The front desk staff was polite, well-spoken, and made the check-in process quick and easy. The ambiance of the hotel carries a blend of traditional Pakistani elegance and modern comfort, making it suitable for both local guests and international travelers.

The room was spacious, well-kept, and thoughtfully furnished. Everything from the crisp linens to the spotless bathroom and functional workspace was just right. I particularly appreciated the calm and quiet environment despite the hotel’s central location. The Wi-Fi connectivity was strong throughout the property, which helped me stay connected and productive during my stay. Housekeeping was prompt and efficient, always ensuring the room was in perfect condition.

The food was a delightful surprise. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet which featured a variety of local and continental options. Everything was fresh, well-cooked, and served in a clean and pleasant dining area. I also tried dinner at the in-house restaurant and was equally impressed with the quality of food and the attentiveness of the service.

What truly elevates Islamabad Hotel is its ability to cater to different types of guests. Whether you're a business professional attending a meeting, a tourist exploring the capital, or someone hosting an event, the hotel is fully equipped with excellent meeting halls, dining spaces, and customer service that make it all hassle-free.

Security and cleanliness are well-managed, and every corner of the hotel feels safe and comfortable. It’s clear that the staff is well-trained and committed to maintaining high standards.

Overall, Islamabad Hotel is a reliable choice that combines luxury, convenience, and a rich heritage of hospitality. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the capital and looking for a well-rounded and satisfying hotel experience. I look forward to staying here again on...

Islamabad Hotel is a centrally located property in the heart of Pakistan’s capital, making it an excellent choice for both business and leisure travelers. Here's a detailed review of its key aspects:

Location The hotel is ideally situated near major landmarks such as Blue Area, Faisal Mosque, and Centaurus Mall. Its proximity to government offices and tourist attractions adds to its appeal.

Ambiance and Cleanliness The hotel boasts a well-maintained, clean, and elegant environment. The lobby is spacious and welcoming, with a modern yet traditional aesthetic that reflects local culture.

Rooms The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and equipped with all essential amenities, including Wi-Fi, a minibar, and satellite TV. The bedding is comfortable, and the housekeeping staff ensures cleanliness and hygiene. However, some rooms could use minor upgrades to furniture and fixtures.

Dining The on-site restaurant offers a variety of Pakistani and international dishes. The breakfast buffet is particularly impressive, featuring a mix of local and continental options. Room service is prompt and courteous.

Facilities The hotel includes facilities like a gym, business center, and conference rooms, catering well to corporate guests. The banquet halls are also popular for events and weddings.

Staff and Service The staff is courteous, professional, and attentive to guests' needs. From the reception to housekeeping, the service quality is commendable.

Value for Money While the hotel provides excellent services, its rates are slightly on the higher side compared to newer options in the city. A more competitive pricing strategy could make it more attractive.

Overall Experience Islamabad Hotel is a reliable choice for anyone looking for comfort and convenience in a central location. With minor improvements, it has the potential to become one of the top hospitality destinations in the city.

Rating: 4/5 Would recommend for business trips, family...

The Islamabad Hotel is situated in G6 Markaz. I thoroughly enjoyed their cuisine and found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. My visit was delightful, especially during a conference organized by Al Mustafa University. The conference hall provided everything one would expect from a hotel room, and the meeting facilities were also impressive. The restaurant served delicious food, and the service was excellent. I look forward to returning and wish them all the best. I visited the Islamabad Hotel on a Sunday for a test, and it was a pleasant experience. The interior design and lighting were impressive, and I was able to catch a glimpse of the spacious and well-maintained rooms through an open door. They also offer a parking area and a gym, including facilities for ladies. The lobby features a restaurant section and a coffee bar, and while the menu is simple, it offers good options. The hotel has spacious halls for functions and meetings. One thing I found lacking was entertainment options for guests waiting in the lobby; there were no books or other amenities available. However, overall, I had a positive experience and would recommend it to others.

Located in heart of Islamabad has a 15 min access to most important places but airport is 45 min away by car. It's a medium priced hotel around Rs 10,000 per night standard room, unless you are desperate for a room when you will be charged about Rs 17000 per night (1usd= Rs140). Its a 2/3 star facility by international standards but 3/4 star by local standards. Has most facilities though service is moderate level. My stay a few days ago surprised me as quality of facilities in room and maintenance was not its usual even 3 star level. Had to ASK for every little thing like bathing towels, slippers, even tea and coffee for the make it yourself facility in room. The plugs and switches were loose and my phone charger stopped charging as it was loose and slipped while I slept. Service was slow but staff was pleasant and wanting to help but the facility had problems. Room in pics is not standard room as because I was stuck and paid rack rate they upgraded me to a junior suit. So if you are a budget traveller may not be a impossible place.
