Hotel City Plaza & Suites — Hotel in David Sur

Where do I start? So, okay... my second night I planned to have a friend visit me upstairs in the room. They initially wanted to charge me another full nights stay, which was absolutely ridiculous. Good thing I speak Spanish (and am in the hotel industry myself). I mentioned that the price should be for double occupancy, at which point she informed me that the price was higher for two people. Which is okay, it's normal, and I was willing to pay the difference, but definitely NOT another full nights payment. Not very honest, and I'm actually morbidly curious to know if anyone has paid the full nights stay for an additional person. I'm sure somebody has. Anyway, after this incident they really went above and beyond to treat me and my friend well. Moving on, the breakfast... it exists, it's included in the room cost, and it's plentiful. That's all I will say about that. My friends and I also had dinner at the restaurant and it was very mediocre. On top of everything else, this hotel just lacks character, and doesn't fit with its surroundings. And the beds and pillows are hard as a rock. So yeah, overall 2 stars, and I have to give some recognition to the cleaning ladies and restaurant staff. In spite of everything I've said I probably would stay here again. We went for two weeks to David City arriving from England and decided to stay in this brand new hotel. What a pleasant surprise , we had a very welcome and the staff were very helpful with husband and I. We got a beautiful room with a king size bed. . Wow !the decoration , the sheets , coffee maker ( we love ours in the morning) , the bathroom with complete set of body cream, shampoo, conditioner, all exquisite and inviting , air conditioning very quiet ….so all really lovely…. We didn’t hesitate in booking a longer stay for 3 nights more. The lift is super fast, the hotel is situated in a very good location, loads of walking restaurants around, supermarket, casino, etc. They have shuttle transfer to airport, we dind’t use because we rent a car, but I think is great idea for those who flight from Panama City . All I can say after receiving an upgrade room and with the nice staff we met , we are thinking going back next year. The girls at the restaurant deserve a A+++ always with a smile , Thanks to you all for making...

we were in this brand new hotel for a night but it was not a good experience, they opened doors too soon not ready to accept customers yet, once in the room no hot water which is for us not pleasant bathing with cold water, we reported they couldn't do anything until next day, no trash bucket, no dresser, no bag for dirty clothes, but we were so tired we went to bed and no complained, next day we were moved to another room to use the shower guess what! only hot water so hot we got burned, on top we lost power and we were out of the room no sign to find the exit to stairs, yes noooo safety once at the reception we complained but this lady never say sorry for the inconveniences to me means bad training,so as for us as family they won't see us again there, we booked two rooms and both were same conditions, in the positive note breakfast was good and waiters too, maybe one day they can be a good...
