I stayed here for 2 nights after an 8-hour bus ride from San Jose, CR before continuing on to Panama City. Hotel is centrally located on a busy street, across from a lovely park and down the block from a large grocery store. It is right in the heart of a very lively area. Taxis are plentiful around the hotel, and it's only a $2 taxi ride to the bus station. Hotel staff were polite, helpful, and professional. Good WiFi in the room. There was a small flat screen TV, but no English-language channels. The shower was hot and had good pressure.||||The hotel lobby was modern, but dimly lit, as were the hallways. The room was old, dreary, and nondescript-- just a bed, desk, desk chair, and TV. Some rooms also have a side chair. The lighting in the room was very poor and the window in the room was blacked out. You couldn't see out the window or tell if it were night or day. The air conditioner was so loud that it sounded like a generator. I moved to another room, but the a/c was only slightly quieter. Besides the air conditioner, the room was quiet. I didn't hear any street noise or noisy guests inside the hotel||||The hotel was cheap, so I wasn't expecting luxury. However, based on the TA reviews I expected something a little nicer. This is just a place to lay your head. I wouldn't stay...
Read moreAmazing location! It was my very first time visiting the town of Chiriqui in David, though I was born in Panama. The rooms are very clean, the staff is professional, courteous, helpful. The hotel follows great sanitary conditions during this unfortunate global pandemic. The parking spaces are spacious for most cars. The restaurant inside the hotel offers great menu choices at reasonable prices. The beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are very clean. The only thing I wish they had was a little refrigerator inside the rooms. Other than that, our stay at Hotel Castilla was delightful. My family and I will be coming back in the near future to stay there and enjoy...
Read moreHotel Castilla was an oasis of pleasantness in hot, noisy, dirty David. I don't know why anyone would go to David except, as we were doing, to catch a bus or plane to go elsewhere. The hotel was cool and quiet, clean, and had helpful front desk people. Centrally located. Decent restaurant attached to the hotel, which is a good thing, as the food offerings in David are not much. The internet didn't work in our rooms, though it did in the comfortable lobby. And, oddly, it has no windows that aren't frosted glass, so you can't see out...
