Johnny Fiestas — Hotel in Las Lajas

The best thing about travelling is discovering new places and meeting like-minded people who make you feel instantly at home. I booked one night at Johnny Fiestas on a whim but kept extending my stay until it was irrevocably time to fly back. The hostel is brand new and it has got everything you'll ever need for the perfect beach holiday. It's clean and cosy, the beds are comfy and the atmosphere is very welcoming and laid-back. The beach is literally across the road and it's very peaceful during the week which I appreciated after the crowds. Between endless swims in the ocean, you can relax in a hammock listening to some cool tunes, snack on some seriously delicious food (the fish tacos are out of this world!) and sip some cold beverages at the bar. Stayed two nights in 8 bed dorm. Bed was ok but bathroom and floors could have been cleaner. Waterpressure in the shower was very poor. Three dogs are always around which was ok for me. Kitchen is ok as well. WiFi is good, they have enough lockers and they have good surfboards for rent (10$ a day). No supermarket around. Waves were good for beginners and beach was super long, so you can take beachwalks for hours. This hostel is just amazing!!! It's right on the beach (literally 30 seconds walking distance), the atmosphere is really chill and friendly and everything is very clean. Furthermore, the staff is very attentive and eager to help you with whatever you need. They also cooperate with a great professional massage therapist that offers Shiatsu right on the beach for very reasonable prices! :)

I'd definitely recommend this hostel; it was honestly one of my highlights of my entire trip :)
