Normally, my experiences have been good there, but this time was very different|I found the manager to be harassing me for having a cigarette while out on the beach, which they do not own.|When I asked her to leave me alone, she continued with her fake silly little grin on barging me unendingly. I had to ask her to please go away and leave me alone as I was not on their property, but she continued for some time.|I was told my puff of smoked went hundreds of feet away into the restaurant and they could smell it which I do not believe ever happened. | While standing in the sandy beach, under a beach shade tree at the far end of the property corner line, I was approached and told how rude I was to be smoking, and when I asked her to go away and leave me alone, she continued her ranting, which was upsetting to me and my friends. When I took it up with the owner, it didn’t get any better.| I just received an email saying I am no longer allowed to make any reservations there.. Well my response was ‘Great Minds Think Alike’|One of my friends who reserved two nights through TripAdvisor was overcharged instead of paying $82 a night for two nights as was the price when he made the reservation he was charged $220. Then my other friends who have been there many times stayed for three nights and only had to pay $230.. The owner said he’d look into it, but obviously never did.. No refund of his over payment happened.|Another disappointment is even though the rooms have television sets there hasn’t been any service for weeks as no one wants to come there to fix it. So i was told by a staff.|On our second day, we were told we could not have lunch until after one oclock as a large group was expected. Four of those members also were smokers out on the beach and they were not approached at all, no problem there.|I find there are other resorts much closer to where my homes are in David and I will be delighted to give them my business such as Barquetta Beach Resort! . It is actually more beautiful and the Restaurant is absolutely wonderful as well as the pools and the beach access. I love the decorations inside with their pools of tortoises and fish.||I’m the CEO of a corporation and I have never been treated as unkindly as I was at Las Lajos and I am very happy to...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Las Lajas Beach Resort after living here in Panama for a year and listening to people rave about the resort. We already knew the beach was nice, because we’d been in the area twice. ||The resort was described to us as “kitschy,” but I find the resort endearing. The staff was absolutely wonderful and the young woman we met at the Reception desk spoke English quite well. ||The resort is quite colorfully painted, as many places in the Caribbean, at the beaches in the southern part of the US, and as many places in Panama are. We were in what is termed a “junior suite,” which has on demand hot water, AC, a water cooler, and a small fridge. We also had a TV, 2 not-quite-queen sized beds, a single bed, and a recliner sofa. The room was clean and comfortable. Beach towels (to use at the pool or the lounging area) were provided as were 1 washcloth, 2 hand towels, and 2 bath towels.||The food at the restaurant was very good; as with nearly every restaurant I’ve been in in Panama, the restaurant was open air but not exactly al fresco. We had a roof over our heads; the kitchen was enclosed, but there were no enclosed dining rooms. There are vegetarian and vegan offerings, which were excellent to see (and taste). ||One can sit under one of the palapas (a open air hut with a thatched roof made of dried palm leaves), out in the open air in a plastic chaise longue, swim in the pool, or relax in a hammock. ||The resort ends where the beach begins. Walking the beach is great fun and one may spot crabs, birds, shells, and driftwood. I saw a few people in the water but they seemed to be standing around talking and jumping in the waves, not swimming. ||This was a terrific place to come and relax. There’s not a lot of nightlife going on at this particular beach (unlike Myrtle Beach, SC; Daytona Beach, FL; or many other beaches in the US). We saw families with children who ranged in age from toddler to nearly adult. We encountered Panamanians as well as visitors from other countries.||We will...
Read moreParadise is paradise!||I feel so blessed to find Liza on HorseVacations.com She's been nothing short of amazing. When I emailed her, I felt like I was in the best hands. She arranged everything for me. The lodging, transfer, horse riding, and massages.||Her husband, Gama is a Panamanian cowboy. I fell in love with Bonbino and rode him for three different days. Two beaches runs; one into the mountains to see petroglyphs, the greenest grass, and the most beautiful cows.||It was genuinely peaceful in every way. On my last beach ride, Gama grabbed a coconut and whipped out his Machi, voila, fresh coconut water. ||Did I die and go to heaven? Nope, heaven was waiting for me when I got back. ||Liza is a first-class massage therapist; she knows so many different styles. One day, she did the sound bowls on my belly, which I had not done before. It was so cool. She has a large Palapa yoga platform where she does massages. It is tucked back into the property, so you do not even know it is there. You only hear the waves and birds all around. ||Las Lajas Beach Resort is a true gem. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place. The beaches are long, and the waves are perfect for body surfing or boogie boarding. No large waves here. Basically, you have a beach to yourself. Being from San Diego, there are hundreds of people on our beaches. ||The food at the beach resort is wonderful; usually, staying over a week, I would get tired of the same food; nope, their menu has so much variety. I think it is one of the best egg benedicts I have had. Cooked to perfection with fresh eggs. All the wait staff are so kind. They can be a bit slow to my liking, but I need to learn how to relax|more, LOL. The good news is the food comes out of the kitchen in no time. I could go on and on about this place, you would think I am a paid marketer. I own my own business in San Diego, so I can assure you that is not the case. ||I cannot wait to return. Thank you to everyone who made my stay so...
