La Finca — Hotel in Los Santos

If you're looking for a place to really unplug and relax, stay at La Finca. Hidden up on a hill, but conveniently located right across the street from the beach, this place is perfection. We stayed in the Rancho Cabana and spent looooong lazy mornings rocking on the front porch, sipping coffee and watching the waves. Afternoons were equally as relaxing, spent swinging on the hammock, or having a nap in the air conditioned room. Between those activities, we surfed, played in the waves, laid on the virtually empty beach, and ate delicious food at all the different local spots. There is also access to an adorable kitchen. Simple but yummy breakfast foods are out for guests in the morning, and we took advantage of the kitchen and made a few lunches for ourselves there, too. The owners were awesome -- SUPER helpful assisting us plan our transportation to and from Cambutal, as well as answering all the questions we had, and just generally making sure we were having a nice stay. They also own a little shop down the road called Cambutique, which has some pretty cool stuff --Panamanian crafts, cool art, some clothing and even wine. La Finca feels like such a sweet secret, but everybody should know...

Estuve con mi novio por una noche ya que fue un viaje que dimos hasta Cambutal no planeado e inesperado. Fuimos en transporte público, las opciones usualmente siempre son para personas que van en autos, pero nos anímamos a arriesgarnos con el transporte público. El autobús a Cambutal cuesta alrededor de 5.60 y te deja justo al frente del lugar. Se toma desde Las Tablas (Cuando llegas pagas un taxi que para dos personas cuesta entre 1$ a 1.75$ hacia la para de buses de Cambutal) en la parada de buses hacia Tonosí/ o Cambutal, parten o muy temprano golpe de madrugada o a las 2PM. El hospedaje fue bastante bueno, el sitio tenía todas las comodidades, era una hermosa cabañita casi justo frente al mar, que podía caber hasta 3 personas. En la noche se puede escuchar el mar... su baño es precioso con agua caliente. El wifi no llega hasta la cabaña pero sí hasta la recepción. Está condicionado con aire acondicionado, lleven repelentes por que el baño es algo abierto y entran algunos bichitos inofensivos eso sí. Pero el mar... el mar de Cambutal es la cosa más espectacular del mundo. ||Lastimosamente no tenían su restaurante abierto/habilitado que fue una de las razones habíamos reservado... pero hay varios restaurantes cerca para comer y también se puede ir a los restaurantes de otros hoteles que tienen varias opciones. ||||Nosotros nos salvamos por que en las Tablas que aceptan VISA compramos cosas para elaborar sandwiches y la cabañita cuenta con un mini refrigerador. ||||Los dueños que eran hermanos nos atendieron hasta el final y nos ofrecieron un desayuno de frutas y café, que fue amable de su parte (Ya que no sabíamos estaba incluído por esta vez). El lugar es bueno para desconectarse y me hubiese gustado tener más tiempo para poder quedarme más días en La Finca. Fue un poco difícil salir si vas como nosotros... o se sale muy temprano y se espera al vagón de Cambutal a que llegue o se debe pagar un taxi hasta Tonosí en su estación donde parten buses hacia Las Tablas, cuesta alrededor de 15$ balboas (Si quieres ir directo a las tablas 50$ contactar al buen Sr. Memo 6702 7831). Como no hay señal (Ojo con esto!) lo llamamos desde otro hotel que amablemente nos hizo el favor... pero recomiendo que si van como nosotros, planeen su regreso desde Tonosí o Las Tablas hablando con taxis locales del lugar que los vaya a buscar a la hora exacta que ustedes deseen. ||La otra opción para salir es tomar un bús de Cambutal esperándolo afuera de La Finca que suele pasar a eso de las 3:40 o 4:00 PM dependiendo. Como no nos pareció seguro... preferimos el taxi, fue súper práctico y rápido. Llegamos a Tonosí en casi 35 minutos y partimos de una a Las Tablas y nos dejó casi al frente de la estación de las Tablas /Panamá. ||||Sencillamente no hay excusa para no visitarlo... sea en transporte público o alquilando carro o en auto, Cambutal es precioso vale tooooodo el viaje y La Finca es una buena estadía. Loved the hotel, it is different and unique with the beach right in front. The room itself was comfy and very clean. The hotel has a comunal kitchen where you can bring your own food and cook, the breakfast is included but you have to cook it yourself. In the hotel there is a small restaurant that offers breakfast during some days of the week, it has good pastries and coffee as well. The Cambutal beach is ok, more for surfers, but you can still have a nice dip and if you walk along the beachside for about an hour you will find some awesome caves during low tide. Overall I really recommend visiting this hotel and Cambutal as well as it is a very nice...
