Selina River is a little oasis in Venao.
Tucked away under a canopy of tree, Selina River has all of the ingredients necessary to create and great social and working environment. It is far removed from the party lifestyle the playa location has just a 10 minute walk away, which makes it a great alternative for digital nomads who need a cool place to get their work done.
Feedback: CONs buy an organic cleaner and rags for the yoga mats (put up a sign requiring members to clean after every use). They are all dirty and smell like feet. Unsanitary conditions at the moment. there is a stinky smell often times coming out of the (toilets/sinks) probably as a result of an outdated/old plumbing system or parts. salt water pool would be a big and welcomed step up from the chlorine system that is currently used. would be nice if cleaners were more detailed. Mirrors are usually left smudged, and corners of the rooms are missed.
Pros: staff is amazing (Neta, Freddy, Mike and the rest of the crew are top notch and enhance the Selina experience) Almendro Cafe is a vibe! Some of the best food on the playa. engaging activities that bring people together yoga and meditations nice work...
Read moreI recently spent three weeks at Selina River Venao and it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff extended a warm welcome and maintained an exceptional level of hospitality throughout my stay. Their kindness and eagerness to assist with any questions made a significant difference.
One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel’s incredible location. Nestled in a serene forest, it provided a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The natural surroundings added a unique charm and tranquility that enhanced my stay.

Overall, my experience at Selina Venao River was exceptional. The combination of a friendly staff, stunning location, and excellent amenities made my stay memorable. I am already looking forward to my next visit and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a blend of nature, comfort, and...
Read moreWe had a very bad stay, since the private bungalows smell terrible & the whole floor was full of water all the time. When we asked for another option, they wanted to charge us a much higher price difference than the actual price on the Booking-App. Our room was 83€ per night; two small bungalows for 1 person each would cost 102€ on Booking, so it‘s 19€ difference in total. They offered us the switch for 50€ more, so it would be 130€ actually! Since there was a festival next door, all the night people were walking around singing & screaming. Even with ear plugs it was impossible to sleep. We are not faint-hearted and we stood in many hostels (also party hostels & dorms) in our travel, but this was by far the worst Hostel for both of us. Also it’s very expensive. I‘ve slept in much better accomodations for like 10% of the prices here.
But: the good thing about this accomodation is definetely the location. It‘s really close to the Beach but you still have a jungle-vibe, because it‘s located right to the river within the forest. So if you don‘t need any comfort or sleep, it‘s at least...
