Amazingly, Lae City Hotel has very spacious rooms compared to bigger hotels, even comparable to hotels in Port Moresby. Good menu selection, although room service hours need extension. Chauffeuring services for tourists would greatly increase repeat stays and improvements on entertainment facilities for guests increase daily spending. On a bigger scale though, Lae has greatly changed in terms of infrastructure and is increasingly becoming a tourist attraction, and therefore, much more work is needed to improve conditions for tourists. Road infrastructure and transportation are the biggest challenges that is affecting business opportunities. There are many hard working people in Lae and Security services provided by Security companies have improved significantly. Lae can improve it's night life and provide entertainment for tourists, which will encourage repeat visits. Overall it's a great place to visit. Although, much needed improvement is required in behavioral attitudes towards alchohol consumption in hotels. Spacious rooms

One of the very few good hotels in Lae ciry. Nice and clean but front desk is not helpful. Internet is unstable. It is good, however, laundry is inexpensive as you fill up a basket with 10 to 12 pieces of clothing for 10 US dollers.

A great place to relax and wind, away from the noise pollution and very quiet. Friendly staff and others can be very friendly. With the right amount anything is possible. Otherwise a very nice spot to hide away.

Safe, comfortable hotel in Lae. Cash & credit card payments accepted. Secured parking area.

Older but comfortable hotel in Lae near Toptown. Quiet. On-site dining that is good, including a breakfast buffet. Comfortable bed, good AC, TV with multiple stations to choose from. Adequate electrical outlets for charging. Wi-fi is adequate but might not be reliable enough for audio/video conferencing.

On-site laundry with a turnaround of about 1-2 hours. Pay at the front desk. Laundry delivered to your room.

On-site restaurant has some good food at good prices. Wide variety of Asian favorites as well as Western options, particularly grilled meats (rack of lamb, beef ribs, etc.). Portions are massive and prices are very reasonable. Breakfast features some serve-yourself options (bread, Vegemite, fruit) as well as ordered breakfast plates including omelets.

Staff is friendly and accommodating. English spoken. Accessible via Guard Dog and other secure transports from the airport about...

Staying at the Lae City Hotel was a disaster, I are from Fritch, Texas and it was easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the second I walked in, it was clear the place was a joke. The staff couldn’t care less, moving at a snail’s pace and acting like guests were a burden. My room was a dump: filthy sheets, a broken air conditioner, and a smell that made me gag. The bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks, with mold in the corners and a shower that barely dribbled lukewarm water. Wi-Fi? Don’t even bother—it never worked, and worst of all, Fortnite wouldn’t even load. That alone ruined half the trip. But the real kicker? My friend Gary got eaten by the hotel’s so-called “pet” crocodile, which they let roam freely like it was a dog or something. If you value your life, avoid this place...
