I stayed here for six weeks while travelling on business in Peru. The hotel is really poor, as per European standards. On a positive side: spacious rooms and comfortable beds, very nice, friendly and helpful staff (one of the front desk clerks speaks good English), very good housekeeping. Also, the restaurant is decent with reasonable prices. The neighbourhood is convenient with choice of shops and restaurants within walking distance. But there are serious drawbacks. First of all, the hotel is located by very noisy street, so if you will have a room facing the street, you will hear constant honking, motors revving and loud music from nearby shops from roughly 5.30 am up to 1 am the next day. The icing on a cake is a garbage truck driving down the street every day at roughly 10.30 pm playing loud song about collecting the garbage. Water supply is extremely unstable, with pressure and temperature going up and down within minutes, including hot water disappearing suddenly while you have your soap all over your body. The walls are thin, so if you are bored in the evening you may listen to your neighbours talking or watching tv. There is no heating or AC whatsoever, so the temperature inside is pretty much the same, as inside. In winter this is some 14 - 15 deg C (very much appreciated while walking out of the shower), and some 40 deg C in the summer. Ceiling fan doesn't help a lot. Slow and unstable wifi connection. All in all -...
Read moreI am rating the bar in this hotel. Absolutely 5 star. The hotel is very basic, but I guess no one stays for long in this place. Staid there for one night during a round trip through northern Peru. The staff is very friendly independent of reception, breakfast service or bar. But the absolute star is Flávio (I hope to remember the name) and hope management knows they have a gem. You have to try his pisco, with fruit, nuts, coffee beans and pisco leaves and his excellent pisco sour. Should you (have to) stay in Barranca which is boring and not very attractive go to this place and you will overcome the night with a lot...
Read moreIt is very good located, a couple of blocks away from the market and from the main square. It is not too close to the beach, but if you go in car it is less than a 5 minute trip. Also you can just get a cab to there for a couple of dollars. Has a pool with a bar next to it until 7pm, a karaoke until 3am and a parking lot. There is a cafe next to it with an excellent breakfast (try Pan con Chicharrón, almost same price as in the market and even more tasty). They also offer a buffet for lunch at a reasonable price.||||Wifi signal and speed were excellent inside most of the hotel, even in the 5th floor and next...
