Pacha Qori Backpackers — Hotel in Cajamarca

The owner can help you and guide you with almost all the questions you have! It is great! The kitchen is lacking hygiene. There is a cat that can sleep in your bed. If you have allergies this can have effect on you. The bed on the top can be dangerous. I fell from the top of the double bed. There is no security that can protect you from not falling. I was bleeding heavy. I apologized to the owner about the situation because of the blood. Her only response was that I have to pay 15 sol for the blood that was spilled on the sheets. Strange and very rude in my eyes.

Unfortunately this hostel is no longer what it looks like on the pictures… Despite having a friendly owner, The hostel is a bit of a mess, the dorm beds layout has been changed into a small room. I had a booking for a private room and it wasn’t available so I had to stay in the dorm which is fine…

The big negative side is that you have no key to open the main door, so me and also other guests had to wait until 10 min sometime before someone opens the door.. during the day.. I imagine this could be worse if you come back at night.

As a hostel owner I wouldn’t recommend this one for the time being however I truly believe this hostel Could have a potential to be the hostel...

I visited cajamarca during the Fiesta patrias in Peru and almost every Backpackers hostels were fully booked. I strongly recommend to book in advance if you are traveling during the public holiday in Peru.|Cajamarca itself is a beautiful and antique city which indeed is my favorite one.|I visited at the end of July and it was quite cold during the night, but hot during midday. |There are 3 bathrooms so didn't have problem about using them in the morning.
