Grand Hotel Mercedes — Hotel in Callería

Our group of 12 stayed 5 nights last month so this review includes the overall opinion of the group. This was a first time visit to this hotel and city so we didn't know what to expect. The city of Pucallpa is not that large so the hotel is located about a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport. The Grand Hotel Mercedes is centrally located in the city in a safe area with convenient banking and shopping if needed.||The Grand Hotel Mercedes has a lot of history attached to it with it being at one time the place to stay in Pucallpa. The hotel has been remodeled very tastefully keeping a lot of the old and adding the new to produce a lot of character.||The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool, a nice restaurant, and air conditioned rooms that are very clean and adequately furnished.||The staff was exceptionally helpful and polite.||We will absolutely stay at the Grand Hotel Mercedes again when we return for another visit...

Really nice pool and courtyard. Breakfast was coffee, juice and rolls and it was served happily. The folks that work there are very friendly and helpful. The power went out on our last day but that wasn't their fault. Also, we had some bugs in the room (ants, etc...) but hey, it's Pucallpa! We were here for a friends quincineria and their house didn't have screens on the window or a toilet you can flush (pour water into the toilet instead). Looks like that's somewhat common here in Pucallpa so this hotel and the friendly staff saved the day for us...

We were part of a charity foundation that annually builds houses in Pucallpa. We have stayed in the Grand Mercedes Hotel for several years now and it is getting better each year! The owner has significantly invested to renovate the rooms, improved the dining room and the customers service, especially by a man named Germain was wonderful. The air conditioning works well - a nice feature for the hot and humid climate of Pucallpa and the Wi-Fi was upgraded while we were there. We would highly recommend for the "value...
