Good location for this hotel, it was conveniently located so that it was an easy walk to restaurants, etc. The hotel is simple, but it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Great large tub and shower with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. We arrived into the airport and picked up a taxi on arrival, it was a short drive to the hotel from the airport and the cost was 10Soles. Included breakfast was simple, but nice. They do have an on sight restaurant, but we did not dine there, we wanted to explore around in town. On arrival, we walked outside the hotel and turned left to find a great little hole in the wall "La Nusta" we ate there on a Friday afternoon, around 1600 and it was really good and very reasonable!! ||I did not have any tours scheduled in advance, so I was happy that on arrival on a Friday afternoon, I was able to secure a tour with the help of the front desk clerk with "Colonial Tours" I booked it for the next day, Saturday, and at only 50Soles per person, we thought it was a good deal. We started the day on Saturday at 1000 and finished at about 1800. We did the #2 tour which was "Tour Sican+Tucume+Museo Tumbas Reales" A large comfortable van picked us up and there was a scheduled stop for lunch (on your own)||We appreciated the customer service from all the staff at Hotel Mochiks and at $57USD per night for a matrimonial room, (booked through Booking.com) it was a good deal. We would definitely recommend this establishment for your stay...
Read moreThis hotel has the perfect location for Chiclayo. For single women or women traveling together it is a great choice. Hotel Mochiks is a half block off Balta, a four lane street which always has lots of pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The hotel can be seen from Balta. It is 3 blocks towards the Plaza de Armas from the Entrefases Bus Station on Balta, another 2-3 blocks takes you to the Plaza de Armas. (Entrefases operates numerous buses from Trujillo throughout the day and into the night) There are several restaurants within a couple of blocks on Balta.||||A single, quiet, air-conditioned room cost about $40 through Bookings. (You will want air-conditioning in Chiclayo) The rooms are clean with cable TV and good hot water. My only complaint was that the only plug for electronics was too high up on the wall to permit recharging. They give you a free drink and the included breakfast is decent. The staff were helpful in getting cabs at...
Read moreI spent 2 nights at Hotel Mochiks in early May, and was very grateful to the helpful staff who facilited an early check-in after an overnight bus, helped arranged various taxis, resolved a misunderstandings with a tour agency, and generally made me feel welcome.||||The hotel is very well located, just a few blocks from Chiclayo’s main square and in an area with a number of restaurants. ||||My room was nothing special, but it was clean and serviceable – lots of counter space in both the bedroom and bath, lots of hot water, and a comfortable bed – it met my needs!||||Breakfast, included in my room rate,...
