Los Cerritos de Chaclacayo — Hotel in Lima Metropolitan Area

We arrived at this place a bit after 12 noon. We had to knock on the door forever and a guy looked out and still took long time to open for us. I explained to him that we had a reservation for a family room but seems he had no idea. Eventually he let me in and took me to this very dusty small lounge room where an old lady and a younger one with a baby spoke some English. I guess they were the owners and managing the place. The lady had no idea about the reservation. I gave her the paper she looked at the section which mentioned the money and read it like she had no idea. We booked it through the site 'pacarama' which was the only option for reservations and immediately they charged 10% to our credit card!!! I guess this is how they make their money. Eventually the lady asked me "how many nights do u want? 2, 3, 5?" I told her "I have a reservation for two nights in a family room do you have any idea about that?" She didn't reply and knowing that I don't speak Spanish she started speaking to that watch man or worker and asking him about the family room and he said it was occupied until 1. So she then told him to give us a room for 4. I know a little Spanish and understood what they were saying. So the guy takes me to a room that smells very bad with two double or queen beds and says this is the room!! According to the website the room we chose had a big bed and 2 singles and was a large suite with a terrace. This room had nothing yet it cost $124 dollars a night!!!!! So they decided to charge us for the family suite and give us a regular double suite which was very dirty and disgusting with no window and so small. The whole place was run down and nothing like the pictures. Also very dusty and dirty everywhere to the extent that the dogs hanging out in the park were also a dirty grey color and looked homeless. I think this place is even unsuitable for a homeless person and would never reccomend it to anyway. We turned back to lima and did not stay 1 minute in that filthy place. We found this place on the Internet, the website is well designed but far away from reality. When we got there past noon, the rooms were not ready. When they showed me one of the rooms it was disgusting. Used sheets, wet used towels, fridge was dirty, even trash was still in the room. A couple got out of one room and they tried to give us the very same room with out cleaning it. The owners were there the whole time but never apologize. There is no spa! no restaurant! The kids zone is a joke! The pool is tiny and looks like is never been clean.The only good thing was the workers that were trying to help us and they were more concern for us than the owners. The poor dog kept trying to go into our rooms... Stop lying to people with the website and a map that is nothing...

I stayed in Los Cerritos for several weeks, and I really liked the way the service is done. Very friendly, very clean and a really quiet place to be. I like the peace that radiates from this place, being away from the busy center of Chacalacayo. I am from Belgium and I have other friends from Europe that have enjoyed their stay in this place as well. I certainly recommend this place to people who want to spend time here with a family, or just by themselves. There are spaces for playing games, relax, have a barbeque as well.
