Returning after 40 plus years to Puerto Chicama was an experience. There's several hotels now of different levels. I chose Iguana Inn because its price was competitive and affordable. I was not disappointed. Although it is a no frills, basic hotel it had great service managed by Mauro. He made sure everything was clean, he changed our linen & towels and he maintained 24 hour security. The hotel has no restaurant but it has a big kitchen, fridge and microwave oven where you can prepare your meals if you are on a budget. Definitely quiet enough to get a good night's sleep before an early morning surf!||The kitchen facilities are great- including a coffee machine (bring grounds), plenty of fridge space, and drinking water available to guests.||Also plenty of storage space for boards, and an outdoor shower to wash off before entering (would be nice to have a bucket/sink area to wash off wetsuits).||||Fast Wifi. We were planning on staying for a few days and ended up staying for three weeks. For us it was the best place in Peru and we travelled the entire coast down to Ica.
