The lodge is in a perfect location to access Machu Pichu without dealing with the boards of tourists. It is a short car ride to Hydroelectrica and from there either a 30 min train ride or 3 hour spectacular walk into the base of Machu Pichu. (Note they will tell you 2 hours, not true unless you are a power walker) It is also a short cab ride $5-$6 USD / 30 Peruvian to the hot springs (also a walkable distance, they say 30 min but more like an hour) The lodge is a hideaway from the world and melting into a chair to listen to the river and birds, well you can quickly lose a couple of hours. The owner is super helpful if you can be patient with her English - she really is the Matron of the lodge and helped greatly in understand how to get to Machu Pichu and providing an excellent driver that wouldn’t take advantage of you as a tourist. Again I would highly recommend Valle Santa - see review of local restaurant as...
Read moreThis was honestly one of my favorite stays that I have ever had. The rooms were gorgeous right on the water, and we were very comfortable with 4 people. To get to Machu Picchu you have to hike close to 5 miles from Aguas Caliente. But chances are, if you’re looking at this hotel, you already know all of this.
So assuming you know what to expect, this hotel could not be any better for the occasion. You will feel transported into such a...
Read moreI loved this 'treehouse' feel place. We only stayed the 1 night..wish we'd stayed more. But had to get to Machupicchu. We were greated with fresh squeezed pineapple juice in reception. There is plenty of hot water. The beds are so comfortable and come with mosquito nets. There's a river nearby which some critics have said is too noisy (I suppose it might be different in rainy season though) I didn't think it was and added a nice background noise along with the birds noises around. The hosts are very accommodating and let us keep our rooms on for a few hours extra after we'd been to the zipline nearby. The breakfast and evening meals were lovely especially more so with the beautiful views that come with it....
