The rooms here are very nice and clean, only downside they don't have double beds - they just put two single beds together which makes it a bit less comfortable but since the rest of the room was really nice I wouldn't take a star for that. One star less because we asked for vegetarian food which they said was no problem. We ended up with chicken soup and a tiny portion pasta with veggies, the other ones eating meat got portions almost triple the size, so after a full day of hiking we were still very hungry. Breakfast was more and really good! Also the coffee they had was one of the best we had so far! Unfortunately we couldn't do a tour because they were busy that day we would have loved to see how they work.

My friends and I stayed here during the Salkantay trek, and what a beautiful surprise it was! The couple who owns the property go above and beyond and really make you feel at home. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the view is lovely. One of the owners took us on a coffee tour and we roasted our own coffee. The dinner we had here was also the best meal we had in Peru! I suggest Refugio de Mery for every hiker I meet but also for people just passing through the area. Thank you for the amazing stay.

This place is just great. Run by adorable Peruvians who will go out of their way to make you feel at home. Cool and quiet location perfect to relax and rest after your third day's hike to MP. Night is s/60p.p and includes WiFi, hot shower and a great dinner and breakfast. Mery can also give you a tour of her family farm (coffee, banana, avocado and yuca) which ends with a tasting of coffee freshly roasted and ground by yourself. It is totally worth the stay!!!!

We stayed whilst doing the Salkantay and absolutely loved it here. Mery and her husband were so kind and welcoming and we had a lovely time chatting with Mery and getting to know her and learn about their community. Great room with giant bed, delicious vegetarian food which was a very welcome change to the food we had the rest of the trek which was almost always the same everywhere else so was great to eat something different here. Brilliant coffee tour too, interesting to get to see and participate in the whole process from tree to cup. Thank you for providing the perfect place for us to rest! It is also a bit further up on the Inca trail path which means you have a bit less hill to walk up the following day. We found it a bit hard to find initially but by asking local people we managed...

El Refugio de Mery is an awesome place to stay if you hike the Salkantay trail and need a place for the night in Lucmubamba. The rooms are great and big with a private toilet. The bed is really comfortable. It's located in the middle of the forest surrounded by coffee trees. It's an amazing location. I did some yoga on the balcony in the afternoon sun. Right after arrival we've been offered a fresh papaya juice. Then we participated in a coffee Tour which I can recommend as well. It includes tasting coffee and coffee liquor. Rosalio is a great cook. He prepared a delicious dinner and breakfast with fresh ingredients. Vegetarian or Pescetarian are no problem. Mery and Rosalio are really nice. It was a pleasure to stay in their place. I would...
