Fiorella, manager - excellent English. She is the daughter of the owner and does a great job. Spacious rooms and they all have views of the lake. There are many different plants throughout the hotel with their names.
Enjoyed the pool with view of the lake Very delicious and very affordable food! Sra. Luz does a terrific job in the kitchen. If you want a relaxed place with great service, great food, surrounded by nature this is a very recommended option. We only wished this place didn’t ask for the dishes to be ordered hours in advance but we understand due to the remote location that they needed time to get all ingredients. Dishes ordered: Chaufa Amazónico - I had the best Amazonian Chaufa - rice sautéed with vegetables, sausage from the jungle and cecina. It was not greasy and it’s a huge portion that can satisfy 2 people. Juane de Gallina was a delight. Spaghetti with red sauce and chicken - spectacular. A truly home-made flavor. I typically try to eat regional food everywhere I go but this Peruvian version was so fresh and tasty that we ordered it twice. panqueque con manjar blanco - yummy and good size portion
I suggest the hotel gets their own kayaks and build a ladder for the pier so it can be easier to swim in the lake. Most of the staff don’t speak English but they have reliable WiFi so you can use google translate and practice...
Read moreWe visited Sauce for 3 nights at the beginning of January and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Maloca Inn is at a very suggestive, quiet part of the Laguna Azul, far from the jet skies noise etc. The place is a little tropical paradise, modern enough but preserving the beauty of its surroundings, perfect for relaxing in a hammock with the magnificent lagoon view and enjoying the summer. The weather was perfect, we got to use their decent size pool which was warm and never too full. The food at the restaurant was great, including some of the most famous Peruvian and Amazonian specialties and exotic fruit juices. All the stuff was extremely nice and helpful, and we enjoyed our conversations with the owner about the place and about life. They offer tours as well, we took the boat tour of the Lagoon and loved it. Would love to...
Read moreIt's a beautiful, lush oasis overlooking the Laguna Azul. We stayed four nights at this great place, wishing we could have stayed longer. The room was clean, spacious and had a very comfortable big bed. The view from the room is amazing! All the food we had was great, as were the drinks in the bar (don't miss their cocona sour!!). All staff were friendly and serviceminded and made our stay very relaxed and easy.||There's much to do around the lake and near Sauce, so we could easily have stayed a couple of days more - we did a boat trip on the lake, went jungle hiking, swam in waterfalls and indulged in a hilarious mud bath. Staying "home" just relaxing in or by the pool is just great too. Hope...
