We ended up here after our flight was cancelled and the airline had to put us up for the night. It was a bit bland and felt a bit like a business hotel. Our room was fine, although there was only cold water in the sink and no plug. The batteries in the remote control for the air conditioner were dead and so were the ones the front desk gave us to replace them. The air conditioner was also either on or off, so we froze, then boiled, then froze once more. There was a small swimming pool on the roof. Breakfast was a large buffet, also on the roof. Staff only spoke Spanish and were not very helpful. For example, when I asked if there was a laundry place nearby, the receptionist said "yes" but didn't give any more information and looked very confused when we asked if she had a map of the town (she didn't). Read moreOur friends recommended this hotel because they know the owner and spend a great deal of time there. For Puerto Maldonado, this is good hotel. By the time we got to breakfast, it was cold and, even though we asked for the plates to be microwaved, it was still cold. Get there early for the breakfast buffet. There is air conditioning and hot water. We never had enough towels and had to ask for them. No one speaks English, but you have to remember that you are not really in a popular tourist spot in this part of Peru. The hotel restaurant leaves a lot to be desired and we were the only people in the restaurant one night. We did find a great pizza restaurant called El Hornito a short walk...
Read moreThis could have been a better stay. First do not let them put you in room 201. There is non stop hammering from 7am until 8pm. I looked to find that next door to that room is an engineer shop working on machines. Plus you can hear from the closed windows cars go by all day and night. The breakfast was great. The pool was fine. The bed and sheets were not good quality. Location is a little far off too.
The review before mine convinced me to book here and so I want to put up something more realistic. We were hoping to relax after a few days in the jungle. In the end, we left and I found a better option funny enough with a cheaper price, location and...
