HOSTAL EL PUERTO — Hotel in Yurimaguas

This is a very good budget hotel. My room was very large with lots of natural lighting from the huge window. There was a small desk and chair and a built-in area with a shelf and a bar with hangers for putting clothes. The shower only had cold water, but that is all you need in a hot place like Yurimaguas. The Internet was very fast and mostly worked except for a couple hours one evening (of three), and I assume that was a general problem, and not the hotel's fault. Friendly service. My girlfriend and I stayed at the Puerto Hotel in Yurimaguas for three nights while we were waiting for our boat up to Iquitos to be ready. We found it a nice place to stay for S/.40 per night for the both of us in the basic room. The staff were friendly and very willing to help us make plans and even called the boats for us to find out when they were leaving the port. I was pleasantly surprised to find this haven in Yuri. The place was really clean, spotless!, and the beds nice and clean with a fan in the room. On the third floor, there are hammocks with a nice view of the city to watch the sunset. Wifi is great for the jungle, and works throughout the property.
