This place is beautiful. The price of admission cost is high, however, it's rightly justified. Because only few can afford it the place is safe from uncaring public who has no respect for nature and the environment. There is no sign of vandalism and it is extremely well maintained. There is no trash problem, the amenities are clean, and the service is top notched. Although the scenery and the landscape is extraordinary our experience was further enhanced by the staff. I can't say enough about how good the people that works here. I'm a local here and a proud Capampangan and I was pleased that this place employs our native Aetas. The people that works here are the kindest and the best. From our driver, to the sand and mud baths, to the buffet line. I have nothing negative to say. I believe that this place is more beautiful because of its staff. I found only one staff who didn't smile and looked smug, but he's not one of the Aetas. He was an elderly Tagalog gentleman who looks like one of the bosses. But I'm writing him off as he may be going through God knows what in his life. This one bad apple didn't ruin the basket for me. The total of 1 hr 4x4 thrill ride was amazing. I've gotten on amusement park rides from Disneyland and Universal but nothing could parallel how fun the 4x4 ride was. Not even the Indiana Jones and the Jurassic Park rides could beat the authentic thrill that makes it feel like a true Jurassic Park movie experience, without the deadly dinosaurs of course. The hot spring pools are fantastic. At first I thought, "these pools aren't hot" until I realized that as you climb the highest pools the water gets hotter. It was a perfect setup as each pool offers a different temperature based on the visitor's tolerance. The sand and mud bath experience were new to us so I had nothing to compare it with. But being that this is my first I think it has set the bar high. We loved the experience and again it was all because of the service provided by our Aeta brothers and sisters. I've had some pleasant conversations with many of the Aeta staff and they expressed how grateful they were to be able to have the opportunity to work at this place as they live so close by compared to having to work far in the city. I can tell that the staff are definitely happy to work here and that makes for a great and pleasant customer service experience.
Will I return to visit this place again? The answer is a resounding yes without hesitation. I'm already planning to take my other siblings here when they return to visit Philippines. What can I suggest that they improve in this place? Well they could start by serving breakfast as an option for early starters like my family. We arrived early hoping we could have breakfast but was deeply disappointed that they do not serve it. They could also stack up on their souvenir items. They don't even have magnets with Puning on it. They have nice shirts but I collect magnets from every place I visit and this was one place I would love to remember when I look at the magnets on my fridge.
If there is one suggestion I can give to future visitors, please respect the place and the locals that works here. Lastly when you ride the 4x4 ask to ride it with the top off, hold on tight and stand. You don't know what you're missing until you ride it that way. Don't just sit in the jeep with the top cover on otherwise you'll be missing out on the best thrill ride...
ย ย ย Read moreWe visited Puning Hot Springs and had a wonderful time. Easy to get to via SCTEX exiting the Clark area. 3500 per head and well worth it. They say per "pax" not sure why. We started by parking at Puning Hot Springs Station #1. There we paid and got their free clothes to wear later at stations 2 & 3. Then we boarded the 4 wheel drive vehicles for the trek to station 2. The drive is very fun and bumpy. Started as unpaved road and then along a riverbed occaisionly crossing the river. Bumpy splashy and scenic. At station 2 you change into shorts and tshirt. Then you get buried in very warm sand for ten minutes by the help. It is most relaxing. The help walks on your legs and shoulders as a massage. I got so relaxed I dozed off to sleep. Then you get up and get a mud mask applied to all exposed areas. You may want to tip the help here before leaving. Grab your back pack and back to the 4x4 for the next leg of the journey to etation 3. This part is mostly riverbed and splashy. Through a couple of canyons where you can feel the heat radiating from the dirt walls coming from underground Pinatubo. There are many remnants of the lahar from the 1991 explosion along the way. Finally station 3 and the HOT springs waterfall and pools area. The waterfall is where you rinse off the mud pack from your body. Don't be scared, just be adventurous! Plenty hot to prepare for the pools. TIP----this is where a pair of watershoes come in handy. You know those shoes you wear on rocky beaches. They can get wet but protect your feet. TIP 2------go to the bathroom before walking all the way to the pools. Now once up high there are 4 pools to try. Boiling hot, medium hot, mild hot and a cold plunge which I didn't use as it was being cleaned. I used all hot pools and enjoyed all. There are also beautiful views up high great for picture taking. Then the best part of the trip after another exciting 4x4 ride downhill is their fantastic lunch buffet. Their food is delicious and trust me you will have an appetite when you finally get there. TIP3-----tip the 4x4 drivers both ways. Different drivers each time. Once at the top and at the bottom. Tip your guide also. He accompanies you the whole time. Answers question, takes pictures, and keeps track of things. Be sure to ask the guide questions about local history. So it was a very nice day for all of us!! Hope you all enjoy Puning...
ย ย ย Read moreWent here last 5th of December with my partner and two sisters. We paid 3500 pesos each. We were there at 8.30am. We change to their attire and we have a tour guide, who does not talk, we have our designated 4x4 car. We first went to the hot spring, the drive is amazing, because I am from Pampanga I had experience the impact of Mt Pinatubo. But driving to the hot spring gave me a better idea how Mt Pinatubo really devastated that part of Pampanga. It was sad but beautiful at the same time because the greens has covered all the lahar and made the place devine. When we reach the hot spring, which is a very pretty sight. We have the place to ourselves so it was peaceful and very relaxing. We stayed there for an hour which is good. After that we went to the station 2 which is the hot sand cover and mud pack. This part of the tour is a very let down experience, one because what is supposed to be relaxing it did not turn out to be that. By this time some tourist has arrived as well unfortunately, they could not control their voice. it was just so loud. The loud voices could not just make you relax. The sand cover will last for 15mins. After 15mins they will rush you to remove all the sand in your body because some tourist will be using it. After that you go to mud pack area which is not good at all, they rub you all this mud pack on your face legs and back then all of sudden they ask you to leave and start moving to station 1. So you are covered with mud whilst you go for another drive. At the station 1 eating time, food is not bad at all. To top it up will I recommend this tour to anyone? No, but you can try, maybe you will have a different experience. I just hope they can find a way to make the experience worth your time and money. Create a noise free enviroment...
