Drive to the place is quite terrible and the experience is not even worth the hassle.
Food - 5/10 nothing special, no wow factor, the effort was mostly on the presentation and not the taste.
Atmosphere - 7/10 too many insects, especially flies. Only solution was a candle on the table but there were just too many flies that the candle is basically useless. There were also no fans available for the outdoor dining areas. (Please don’t say you initially offered us an indoor seat where there is air-conditioning, your place is advertising the scenic outdoor dining, of course we will want to be seated outside, all your customers wanted that)
Staff/management - 1/10 our server was nice but the staff members who handled our bill? can’t even begin to describe the attitude. For context, here is our experience:
We asked if they accept card payments, debit card payment to be exact, they said yes and so my friend did give her card and it was swiped, however, the terminal did not print a receipt, which according to them, meant the payment was not processed. They said it is because of the poor internet connected. They asked to swipe it again, but my friend decided to check her bank app first to see if she was charged, which she actually was, the balance was deducted from her account and the transaction was reflected. They said that it was a hold but the payment was not processed because of the poor connection. Their staff insisted we pay again and to look out for 12-24 hours for the reversal. My friend was hesitant to process another payment because it meant, she will be paying twice and will need to wait to receive her money back (if at all). So another staff member came to address the issue, this time, he said we will need to wait for 48 hours before calling them back if the money does not return to her bank account. Of course, with the inconsistencies, we became more hesitant. It was hard-earned money we’re talking about after all. Since they wouldn’t let us leave without making another payment, we agreed to pay via cash, on the condition of asking for a signed letter confirming that we paid through card, got deducted and also paid through cash with the total amount and the promise that in 48 hours, if the card payment is not reversed, they will contact their bank or manually refund the payment. They didn’t want to at first, saying they will just give us their calling card and we can just call them after 48 hours, but of course we wanted a proof that there was an agreement as assurance that the money will return so they agreed but they did not even make an effort to hide their annoyance and you can just hear it from their tone and facial expressions. We got a letter which was poorly written. It was not even a confirmation of the agreement or an assurance, it was a command to call them back in 48 hours.
Basically, they never apologized for the inconvenience. Never, not once. We understand it was a tech issue or something but still, they are well-aware of the internet connection and poor mobile reception of their location, they could have at least given a heads up that their terminal relies on that and could potentially run into problems processing card payments instead of swiping instantly. We could have opted to pay through cash instead. But also, they could have acted like they understood our sentiments and gave us the assurance we needed and just treated us nicely instead of acting all annoyed and rude, we would have cooperated willingly.
PS: It was our friend’s birthday and they gave her such a bad day.
PPS: they called our friend (who had her birthday) to confront her because of our other friend who left a review on their page right after we left. They called to confront the bad review instead of apologizing for the bad experience. How consistently rude...
Read moreI want to give a heads up for those who want to dine in Kynd Dining because going here is a bit challenging and it is located in a remote area of Sapang Bato, Angeles. After exiting the city side of Angeles, you need to take a long curvy, narrow uphill roads to get here!!
We celebrated my mother’s birthday here, they don’t offer discounts for birthday celebrants but they give complimentary dessert lol. They give pwd discounts tho.
Here’s what we ate: karekare - 10/10 you can really taste the peanut in the thick sauce, I can say that its made from real peanuts. Krispy liempo is krispy talaga, veggies are not overcooked. Pork sinigang - 10/10 the sabaw is so good, tamang tama ang asim, veggies not overcooked. I didn’t tried the meat tho but I was hooked with the soup. Bistek Dome - 9/10 the presentation is good, its actually covered with kamote but to be honest it does not complement the bistek. The bistek is good. Okoy - 6/10 not worth the hype as what ‘tiktok food vloggers’ are all saying lol. This is not the typical okoy and doesn’t taste like one. At first bite, tastes like kamote fries tho, and there’s a shrimp on top. The okoy was made from shredded kamote and turnips covered with flour. Better paired with their suka. Zucchini Rolls salad- 10/10 just like typical salad but it was rolled with zucchini or I think that was cucumber lol. Note: if you’re not a fan of cilantro, just take it off lol Pizza Negra - 10/10 the cheese omg!!! and the pizza crust is good tbh i dont eat the dulo of pizza crust lol but eto masisimot mo :) Pork Skewer - 3/10 We were disappointed, this is not the juicy, tender and flavorful pork skewer as it should be. Their pork skewer is just their plain krispy liempo on stick :(
Some take aways: Main dishes can serve 2 to 3 persons but it can actually serve up to 5 (big servings) Kynd Dining is good for family and friends gathering. Read moreArrived her Sunday, around 12noon for lunch. We decided to try a new restaurant while in Clark. We inquired online if we can reserve in advance. Unfortunately they do not accept reservations during weekends. Going to the restaurant, I thought, since the way looks like a remote area, that there will be few customers, and we will be easily accommodated. To our surprise, there is a queue of customers when we arrived. We were 11th on the queue and had to wait for more than an hour.
Starting to be frustrated with the wait time, but still happy with the service crew who remains to be polite and accommodating. Decided to go around and explore the area. There were unoccupied tables outside, but I guess to avoid inconvenience they decided not to use the outside area for dine in during lunch. The ambiance of the place is really good.
Around 1:30PM we were able to get our table, yet there are still 14 groups of customers waiting after us. They were able to quickly dish out our orders because they already took our orders while waiting.
Upon tasting their food, I now understand why customers are continuously, patiently waiting just to be able to dine in to this restaurant. Everything we ordered were good. The ambiance of place was really good, service was also great but starting to feel that the main selling point of the place was their food. I will certainly go back to this place but probably on weekdays where in we can book a reservation in advance.
Before 3PM we finished our lunch, and there are still queue of customers outside waiting for their turn. Kudos to everyone in Kynd for giving us an awesome dining experience despite waiting for more than an hour. Total bill for 13 pax was...
