Was here yesterday, a Sunday, for lunch. Parking was already full so we parked outside. Arrived at 11:45 am. We just walked in the restaurant and was readily seated for a group of 7 after a minute.
Ordered immediately as we know that it is lunch time and crowds of people might be coming in. Asked the server how long it would take to receive the food - he said 30 mins to 1 hour so we accepted and waited.
We have been waiting for an hour, which was around 12:45 pm and our food was not yet given. Like zero out of probably 15 items.
We were already irritated since people who were seated after us, about 30 mins later (1:15 pm) were already receiving their food and ours were still not there which made us more annoyed.
We consistently followed up our orders and no one was attending us! We already asked for the bill at this time since we were really hungry, impatient and pissed. We would just want to settle the payment and leave.
At around 1:20 pm, the person in charge in front was assisting a server to our table to see that the food is being served to us and when we received the order, I said that "The food that you are serving is not our order." My dad talked to her (person in charge) and said that "I hope you understand, we have been waiting here for more than an hour and not all of our food are still being served. Our time is being wasted here." She said that she is part of the office and that she would just want to check whose order is being given to us, which was like "very dismissive" of our complaints with no intention of addressing them.
After that, we received our order probably every after 5 mins but still not complete. We ordered 2 kinds of rice, but was not given. Ordered 3 types of mains, only 2 were given. Chicharon and bread basket, 1 solo pumpkin soup (bland), 2 pastas which tasted like it was to be serve around 30 mins ago (semi-warm, bland), mango salad (nothing special) - were provided but still not enough for us to feel full.
Finally, we decided to get the bill and cancel every order not given to us. Was provided the bill, with the wrong orders, wrong type of order (was provided solo instead of sharing) and inaccurate pricing in accordance to their provided menu. Had to correct the orders for them to re-check, I had to check every detail with a pen to make sure, I mean sinong customer ang gumagawa non for the staff??
Tinake out na lang namin food kasi parang ang tagal pa dumating ng ibang food. Nakakawala ng gana kumain. Pati pagtake out sobrang tagal pa, had to go to the "podium" to follow up pati take out ha. Waited siguro mga additional 5 mins for this.
Overall, the time and effort to go and eat here is not worth it. Probably, they need to close down to re-train their staff and hire management who would be experts in these kinds of food businesses.
Tiktok made me go here and I guess content creators are just not transparent enough to create a review that would make those foodies be well informed about the places that they go to.
Sayang ang business na to. Malaki ang posibilidad na malugi if hindi naayos...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant on a Sunday around 3 PM during the Easter break. Since it’s quite a drive from where we live, we had high expectations—especially after hearing so many great things about it.
To start on a positive note, we were pleasantly surprised to find available parking inside, and the guard was kind and accommodating. I had called ahead and was told they don’t take reservations on Sundays, which was fine, but we were grateful they still managed to seat us right away without a wait.
When we got in, the place was packed—which was expected for a holiday—but the indoor seating felt a bit cramped. From what I observed, it leaned more toward a casual family dining setup rather than a place where you’d want to relax or chill. It didn’t have that laid-back vibe.
Now, onto the service. The waiter taking our order seemed distracted and preoccupied. Every time I started giving our order, he would either call someone over or get pulled away. We let it slide and ordered the chicharon curls, bulalo, and crispy belly confit (which was noted as one of their specialties). For drinks, my partner had the strawberry shake, and I had a Coke Zero.
The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but our appetizer—the chicharon curls—never arrived. I didn’t bother to follow up because I wanted to see if anyone would notice or remember. Unfortunately, no one did, which only confirmed that attentiveness was lacking.
After our meal, I tried ordering their Spanish coffee, another specialty, but again, I had the sense that the waiter never relayed my request. I waited and waited, and eventually decided to just ask for the bill—but even that didn’t come. Just like with the coffee, I had to walk up to the cashier myself to get things moving. It was only then I found out neither the chicharon nor the coffee had been recorded or relayed.
All in all, a pretty disappointing experience. For the distance we traveled and the hype surrounding this place, it honestly wasn’t worth it. They may be attracting a lot of visitors, but the hospitality and service really need attention. It’s not enough to just have good food—organization and...
Read morePiña Kitchen and Coffee is worth the drive for the food and the ambience. Food is a feast for the eyes. On our table:
🥗 Mango Salad 🍹 Mango Shake - mangoes are the best when they’re in season! The salad had a nice sweet dressing. Loved the cherry tomatoes as well. Added a bit of salt to suit my taste, but even by itself, the salad was refreshing
🍕 Quattro Formaggi - the dough was so good!! My friend and I tried Amanti’s before and this one at Piña had a well-seasoned dough. It’s a cross between a thin crust and the usually thicker hand-tossed one in usual pizza places, so it felt like the goldilocks thickness. The cheese topping was not overwhelming and was a good blend. Adding honey and some chili flakes really hit the spot!
🍗 Garlic Butter Chicken - loved how crispy the skin of the grilled chicken is, it was cooked perfectly, moist, and paired well with the green beans
🥓 Pork Belly Confit - nice crisp, but some of the slices were a bit dry but it paired so well with the seasoned vinegar I requested
🍍 🍚 Piña’s Signature Shrimp Fried Rice - serving it on half a pineapple is such a great gimmick hehe usually I prefer plain rice to enjoy other paired dishes but this one paired surprisingly well with the chicken and pork dishes and didn’t overpower them, I recommend trying this signature dish
I really appreciate restaurants with great hospitality. Piña’s staff were the most polite and attentive. They greeted us, kindly responded to requests, and took great photos. Had a great time with my friends because of their food...
