I checked in to Britany Hotel out of a whim as I was going through personal challenges and just needed to get out for a breather with my pet dog. I checked online for pet friendly hotels in the South Area (Alabang/Cavite) and chanced upon this hotel and so I immediately reserved a room and eagerly went for an overnight staycation.||||It was a refreshing feeling to enter the driveway, it was spacious and it was easy for me to get a nearby parking slot to the main lobby. ||||There was a single bellhop waiting at the front door and although I am used to 5 star hotels were there is usually several of them waiting to welcome and usher you in, I did not have issues as the place gave me a serene and calm vibe. I did not need much attention or welcoming, I just needed to unload my luggages and just check in and relax.||||Walking into the main lobby gave me a WOW feeling! It looked so good and luxurious! I felt a bit giddy as I just came from the gym wearing my workout outfit and so I knew I should've worn better looking clothes upon checking in. ||||I was well attended to from the baggage drop, to the issuance of room keys and usual briefing of the hotel facilities, etc. I love the look of their elevator where it even had a sofa inside. I could imagine that if I were traveling with my senior parents, they would've wanted to take a sit while waiting for us to arrive at our designation hotel floor. ||||Disembarking from the elevator was a surprise for me too! There was a large tv and a computer setup at the lobby, how convenient and thoughtful of them to have it there.||||The room too, I enjoyed from the spacious King Size bed and the wonderful view of Daang Hari. I appreciated the option that I could turn off the AC and open the windows. My dog peered out of the window like a kid enjoying the fresh air.||||They had Netflix on tv! What a welcome treat for me to continue binge watching on my favorite shows! ||||There are just a few things that I would like to comment on but overall, don't get me wrong, I did enjoy my stay and would consider coming back especially since I got my room at 50% off. It was well worth it! ||||Comments:||||1. Wish they could have provided more kitchenware (plate, fork, knife) and glasses at least inside the bathroom. It makes it easier for me whenever I brush my teeth to place the water in a glass or even when I need to drink water from a bottle. ||||2. They also did not have a closet for clothes. They did provide an area where you can hang your clothes together with their provided bathrobes but for me, I would have appreciated more space. ||||3. The room beside me had occupants in the evening and I could hear them talk, laugh and turn on the TV at high volume (seems they were about to sing karaoke). Since I came to this hotel for peace and much needed sleep, I found it very disturbing.||||4. I woke up with an insect bite on my cheek and noticed that there was a lone mosquito (it was quite big). I tried to catch it but was unsuccessful. I just placed Argan lotion (which was also provided by the hotel) in the hope that it would keep it from biting me.||||The hotel, I was told, is just about to turn 1 year this month and so I see it is normal for minor adjustments to still be made. ||||But one thing to note is the staff. This made me disregard the concerns I had as they were all very hospitable, warm and friendly. Special shoutout to the following:||||Ken - for doing my reservation. Very patient and accommodating with all my inquiries. This is one of the main reason I decided to check-in despite other hotels nearby being more affordable.||||Raymund - for welcoming me at reception. Very professional, confident. Speaks very well and a good representation of the hotel. ||||Danica - front desk, I called her to raise concern about the noise coming from the room beside me late evening. She accommodated my request and had the guests move to another room far from me. I was then able to sleep like a baby the entire night.||||Cholo - one of the bellhops who helped me with my luggages. I sensed that he was into dogs with the way he was looking over my fur baby even when I had to leave my pet a few minutes inside my car to complete my check out. He was very friendly and definitely made me convinced that this indeed was a pet friendly hotel.||||Kudos to Brittany and more power! Looking forward to my next visit, I will bring...

The Brittany Hotel @ Villar City is one of three Brittany Hotels in Manila, positioning itself as a luxurious boutique hotel chain.

Upon entering the main lobby, we were immediately struck by its stylish and Instagram-worthy aesthetics. The design and decor certainly make for stunning photos, but as the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words”—and the reality of our stay painted a more nuanced picture.

It appears that the hotel is not yet fully operational, as only certain floors seem to be open for guests. Given that it is a very new establishment, this is understandable, but something to keep in mind for prospective visitors.

Rooms & Comfort

The room was spacious and well-appointed, though it had some internal issues that we brought to the staff’s attention. One major drawback was the poor noise isolation, which meant that we could clearly hear road traffic from inside the room—something that detracted from the overall comfort and tranquility expected from a hotel of this caliber.

Service & Amenities

Service was inconsistent, with long waiting times and multiple follow-ups required for simple requests. A glaring issue was the lack of basic amenities; for instance, toothpaste was not replenished after the first night, and we eventually had to purchase our own as it seemed the hotel had run out. These service lapses were frustrating, especially given the hotel’s premium pricing.

Dining Experience

Breakfast was a mix of American and Filipino fare. On weekends, it was served buffet-style, whereas on weekdays, it was à la carte. However, the selection felt limited, particularly when it came to healthier options like fresh fruits.

One of the most surprising (and disappointing) aspects was the beverage policy. The breakfast package only included standard brewed coffee or tea. If you wanted an iced latte or any specialty coffee, you had to pay full price. Given the hotel’s high room rates—on par with five-star establishments—one would reasonably expect a more generous dining experience without additional charges for such basics. This was the first upscale hotel we’ve stayed at where premium coffee wasn’t included in breakfast, which felt like an unnecessary cost-cutting measure inconsistent with the brand’s luxury positioning.

Location

The hotel’s strongest selling point is its location. It is just five minutes from the Evia Lifestyle Center, a mall we thoroughly enjoyed exploring. Additionally, there are several high-quality and affordable spa establishments nearby, offering excellent massages in a safe environment. The hotel is also next to the Crossing Cafe which serves pretty good western Filipino fusion.

Overall Verdict

While The Brittany Hotel @ Villar City presents itself as an upscale luxury hotel—with room rates comparable to five-star properties—it falls short of delivering a true five-star hospitality experience. The main areas needing improvement are service consistency and the breakfast experience, both of which failed to meet the expectations set by the brand and pricing.

That said, given the limited hotel options in the area, this may still be the best choice available. However, to appeal to international guests, the hotel must refine its standards and improve its service delivery. Perhaps these issues are more acceptable to local guests, but for those accustomed to a true luxury experience, it leaves much to be desired.

Would we stay here again? Only if service and hospitality improve to match the hotel’s ambitious branding and...

We stayed at Brittany Hotel's Villa Room in the first week of August 2024. ||It was for an early debut gift and there was no better place to celebrate it but with 'The villa room'. The place was spacious and trendy, It feels as if you are inside a Pinterest picture. Everything was well put together, functional in every corner. Though there were many furniture it doesn't feel cramped at all, great use of space. The Bed is California king sized (I believe) and is very inviting, I had one of the most peaceful sleeps in a while. The walk-in Bathroom with whole body mirrors and big open cabinets, matched perfectly! While the bathtub/jacuzzi and Japanese toilet were the best upgrades I must say. There's also a kitchen where you can cook, reheat, store your food in the fridge or make your coffee in their Nespresso machine. There's even a cake ready at the kitchen counter as a welcome gesture that we appreciate so much, cake was delicious too! |The highpoint of the villa for me would be the dining area with the vast glass windows as our background, perfect place to watch beautiful sunsets and sunrises, paired with delicious meals from their Cuisine restaurant?--Heavenly! ||When we went swimming we had to us served beside the pool Lomi Overload, their famous croissants, Pan Au Chocolat, Cheese rolls, cookies and coffees. These made our swimming experience better, as when the kids goes up and asked for food, the warmth and fullness of the Lomi satisfies all of us that we thought we would not have room for dinner, but of course we can't pass that on, Not in this place, for you will be missing a vital piece of your stay--their FOOD. For Dinner, We dined inside the Villa, had Crispy Kare-Kare and Pepperoni Pizza for the kids. Our Breakfast was served inside the Villa the next morning too, We had Tocino Brulees, Blueberry & Ricotta Pancakes, French Toasts, for coffee some of us had Caffe latte and some had Americano. I Can still remember every food item We had during our stay because that's how good it was-ALL OF IT! The Tocino Brulee is something everyone must try, elevated Pinoy food, the sweetness a tocino must have is there, pair it with their special dipping sauce and you will be mind-blown! 'Umami' as I put it, serving is generous too. The Kid's can't get enough of their French Toast and pastries that we had to order more for take home. Before we checked out, My Sister-in Law was given a Birthday cake which I believed was the 'cherry at the top' moment. Hat's off to the Chefs and staffs! ||Overall, Our Stay at the Villa in Brittany Hotel was one for the books. For their price point, The room, ambiance, luxury, food and service all commensurate. I will definitely recommend and be...
