UPDATE: If the strand was truly a shrimp whisker, it wouldn’t have been black, thin, and clearly human hair-like in texture. I know the difference, and what I found in my rice was definitely not from the shrimp.
If your hygiene standards are truly as high as claimed, a strand of hair should never end up in a customer’s food especially not for someone who orders almost every day.
What’s even more disappointing is how this was handled. Rather than acknowledging the issue, your reply seems more focused on deflecting responsibility than offering a sincere apology or resolution.
I’ve supported Som Thai consistently, but this experience both with the food and the response was frustrating and disheartening.
I’ve been a loyal customer of Som Thai, regularly ordering their Seafood in Chili Paste almost every day. But today’s order was completely unacceptable.
The shrimp tasted dirty and unclean, almost as if it had been spoiled or improperly handled. It was so unpleasant I couldn’t continue eating. To make things worse, I found a strand of hair mixed into my rice, a serious hygiene issue that should never happen at any food establishment.
This was a major letdown from a place I used to trust. I hope the management takes immediate action to improve their food safety and quality control. Customers deserve...
Read moreOrdered the stir fried crispy pork with holy basil which is kinda good and green papaya salad for take out. The pork menu says it’s good for three persons and costs 587 pesos but the serving looks like it’s only good for 1-2 persons. It’s also pricey (even more expensive than some of the well-known chain of Thai restaurants) and the pork seemed to have been fried for days already before it’s been used to prepare the dish. I didn’t see any basil as well in it (maybe just the flavoring). The green papaya salad that costs 120 pesos seems to be only a pickled papaya with string beans and nuts but nothing else. Can be your go-to nearby Thai food cravings but expect less and spend a lot! There’s also foul smell in the dining area close to...
Read moreFirst time ordering from this place on Grab and wow, they exceeded our expectations when it comes to the quality of the food when compared to its price. The servings are generous, the flavors are prominent and well balanced, and the food was thoroughly packed for transport. We were left fully satisfied by the end of the meal.
The standout dishes for us were the tom yum (authentic, prominent sourness with a distinctly shrimpy broth), the stir-fried pork with holy basil, and the mango sticky rice. But generally, all the meals were satisfying.
It’s getting more challenging to find places with this kind of price range and quality of service, the closer you move into the metro. Give this place a go if you happen to crave for...
