I have mixed feelings about this one. The good: the resort is ok, rooms are clean, prices friendly, you can get good food at affordable prices in their restaurant, staff is friendly, snorkel gear is good and always available and the resort is literally right next to the whale shark interaction center. However, there were a few hickups. We booked and paid 2 nights through Agoda 2 weeks beforehand. We arrived in the evening (9-ish), the night guard called the manager. She came out, first said we probably didn't book there, then upon being showed the confirmation gave us the key. We got to our room just to find out we were put in the miniature backpackers room without a bathroom. The room is ok albeit very small, but we were sure we paid for a better room (with a bathroom) and went to sort this out. We kindly asked the night guard to get the manager again. After reamerging from the back, he said she was sleeping and was unavailable. We couldn't do anything about it. We did find out the rooms we were supposed to get were fully booked. Next morning the manager was conveniently out of town, but the staff put us in a larger room as the voucher from Agoda miraculously appeared in their system. There was never any sort of apology and we had to mention it more than a couple of times before we were given back the difference in cost between the room we paid for and the one we actually stayed in (in the end we basically told them to take it out of our restaurant bill). So paint your own picture - it could just be a series of unpleasant coincidences or they rented out our paid room when we didn't get there by the evening. It could have been a pleasant stay if it weren't for said situation, but I think I'm still being generous with the rating all things...

Rating: 3/5
My recent stay at the beachfront hotel was a mixed bag of experiences. The main draw for me was the opportunity to experience the majestic whale sharks, and in that aspect, the hotel's location couldn't be more ideal. It's within walking distance of the whale sharks center, making it convenient for travelers like myself.
However, the overall condition of the hotel left much to be desired. The rooms were poorly maintained, with visible signs of wear and tear. Some rooms even had falling apart fixtures, which was disappointing. The lack of amenities in the rooms was also notable, leaving guests without basic comforts.
On a positive note, the small swimming pool provided a decent space to relax, albeit its size. The sunset view from the hotel was quite nice , offering a serene backdrop for evening unwinding. Additionally, being beachfront meant that most rooms offered stunning sea views, which was a definite plus point.
The beach itself, though not spectacular, offered a tranquil setting. However, during high tide, the beach shrunk to a narrow strip along the concrete wall, limiting the space for leisurely strolls or beach activities.
In conclusion, while the hotel's location and proximity to the whale sharks center are commendable, the lack of maintenance and amenities detract from the overall experience. For those primarily seeking convenience and proximity to the whale sharks, this hotel may suffice. However, guests expecting a comfortable and well-maintained stay might want to consider other options...
Read moreThe resort offers a stunning panorama of sunsets that are nothing short of magical. As the sun dips below the horizon, you'll find yourself captivated by the hues that paint the sky, creating a backdrop that's both serene and awe-inspiring.
The resort's pool is undoubtedly a highlight, providing a refreshing escape on warm days. However, it's worth noting that the pool could use some more consistent maintenance to ensure a pristine experience for all guests. That being said, the potential for enjoyment is certainly there.
As for the accommodations, there's room for improvement. While the rooms offer functionality, they lack the cozy charm that would truly elevate the stay. A touch of maintenance and enhancement could make a world of difference in providing guests with a more comfortable and inviting space.
When it comes to dining, Vitton & Woodland Beach Resort doesn't disappoint. The food, though a bit on the pricey side, is undeniably great. Despite the slightly higher cost, we found ourselves loving every bite. Be prepared for a slower pace of service, though. While the wait might test your patience, the flavors of the food certainly make up for it.
What truly stands out, however, is the resort's crew. The staff's warmth, hospitality, are evident in every interaction. Their accommodating nature enhances the overall experience, creating an atmosphere that's friendly...
