This is our favourite restaurant/bar in all of the Philippines. You cannot get your seafood any fresher and we've tried everything on the menu. We love love love crabs and have been ordering them all over, but Juliette's blue crabs are sooo good we had them every single day! Same with her yellowfin sashimi: just melts on your tongue. She even asked us what we'd like to eat and she kept an eye out if the fishermen caught any, which is why she made little grilled squids especially for us and she even got the best crayfish/lobsters for us for Christmas! Also try her pasta, sooo good!
Apart from the good, fresh food, we also came back for the atmosphere of the place. Super laid back and you feel right at home. You can leave your stuff there to go swimming, catch the most beautiful sunsets and drink the best (and strongest) fresh calamansi margharita's. Juliette is also just such a funny, charming and sweet person to hang out with. In just a few days she became like family. Like that one family member who's had the craziest life and always has the best stories!
We'd come back to Donsol just for Juliette, her sweet dogs, her amazing food...
Read moreCame here for food a few nights ago to eat and watch the sunset, and we had an amazing experience. We were the first people at the restaurant and Juliet instantly made us feel really welcome. She talked us through the menu and showed us the fresh fish they had, from which we picked our order. She had just steamed some crabs so we ordered one, despite never having tried crab before. Juliet showed us how to eat it and we loved it, it was so fresh and juicy.
We also ordered the red snapper which is probably the best fish I’ve ever had, the potatoes and onion, and the tomato cucumber salad. Everything tasted so fresh and healthy, I would definitely put the restaurant as a must-visit to anyone coming to Donsol. I think the prices are fair considering the quality. Our total bill was 1100 pesos including 2 drinks.
Also, special mention for the 4 German Shepherds, they might look intimidating when you arrive but they’re soft...
Read moreSo, I came here because my hotel's cuisine has a last call at 8.30 and I got there at 8.45
They told me I was on my own, and I could check that small restaurant nearby... (This hotel will not get a good review for local tips...)
Because I HAD to spend half of my next dinners there, no other restaurants in the area can compare
So the Host is called Juliet, and not only did she makes me feel more welcome than my own hotel, but she also fed me the best seafood in Donsol
(French guy here : she possibly also is the only one with good wine in the area)
So, I cannot tell you to elsewhere, because, myself, ended up there most nights. Because food is quite good... 😍 Fish only, but sooooooo good 😍
Also because Juliet just made me feel welcome, fed me, and gave me wine 😀🍷😀
So no pressure, but if you find better in this area, please message me, I swear I searched a lot but still end up here. Also happy...
