The fast internet, the security of the place, and the large and clean rooms are the top reasons why i keep coming back to this hotel since 2010 and suggest it to be your #1 choice of hotel when coming to Iligan. Kingsway Inn is one of the largest hotels in Iligan. But more than a top-of-the-line choice of place to stay, WIFI access here is for FREE and they have the fastest wifi signal among all the hotels in the city (Per experience as a local who - on occasions when the internet signal at home falls short than what is needed for my work - prefers running to the hotels, rather than the restaurants, in the city with fast WIFI connection and then request for a room with the strongest wifi signal). ||||Situated in-between Fontina Restaurant and a Shell gasoline station, which is just a one-story building away from the newly-opened 24-hour Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) outlet, Kingsway Inn is also a 10-minute walk to Gaisano Mall. It is also located along the national highway, where jeeps that will go around the city and to the northern part of Iligan, e.g., MSU-IIT, Adventist Medical Center, Gerry's Grill, Paseo de Santiago, and bus terminal, abound. There is also a beauty salon and skin clinic at the ground floor. Across the street, there is also Kuzina Iliganon restaurant, which offers buffet lunch on weekdays for only P125, as well as an a la carte menu of home-cooked-style Filipino cuisine.||||The security of this hotel, I could say, is top-notch - from your privacy to the locks of the windows and the door of your hotel room. You can totally reward yourself with that much-needed restful sleep while staying here. All rooms I have been to are non-smoking rooms. However, one can smoke at the open-air balcony of every floor. Or, you can do what hubby does and that's to smoke on the parking lot, which is at the front of the hotel building where you also get the chance to smoke and mingle with the other hotel guests.||||The rooms, as well as the beds and bath, are also large, clean, and roomy. Every room I have been to is also equipped with a large flat-screen cable TV, hot and cold shower, a work area that doubles as a dresser, an open cabinet for bags, sturdy seats which can double as a laptop table for individuals like me who like to squat on the floor, a closet with hangers for clothes, bedside tables, a landline phone, and recently, I was surprised to find out a hair dryer inside the drawer. The electrical outlets are conveniently situated on the wall at the back of the bed and against the dresser and the cabinet for bags. Shampoos (which I fondly call them salon-quality-scented), soaps, a roll of tissue paper, towels, and a bidet are also available in the bathroom. ||||Checking-in at and checking-out from the hotel are also fast and easy. They accept cash and credit card payments. Grocery snacks are also available for sale at the kitchen, while hot water for warming drinks, like coffee, milk, and tea, is available free of charge.||||Overall, my stays at Kingsway Inn have all been superb. Recently, checking-in as a walk-in guest, especially during the weekends, has become a challenge, obviously because of the increase in demand. Thus, i highly recommend placing your reservation in advance via phone...
Read moreStayed here for one night and all I can say is you get what you pay for. It's relatively cheap for a room, and you can either get a matrimonial bed or two twin beds, but the basic necessities are covered:||||1) Comfortable bed with thick mattresses||2) Small flat screen TV with cable channel||3) Mirrors, a full closet and a table||4) Ample lighting||5) Clean toilet w/ tissue paper, generic soap and shampoo||6) Equipped with elevator to get to the upper floors||||Furniture is painted in white, walls are bright. There is nothing aesthetically dramatic about the room, but it is clean. Rooms did not come with breakfast - or drinking water, so buy your own from their little store in the lobby. Check in and check-out was quick fuss-free, but expect to pay upfront.||||It is fairly accessible to many places - there are restaurants, eateries and spas across and beside the place. Gaisano Mall is just walking distance. ||||All in all - there's nothing special about Kingsway, and they don't pretend to be special, which I like. After all, you're just paying Php 800 - 1200 a night. If you're on a budget and looking for a clean and decent place to spend the night when you are in Iligan,...
Read moreThis was night 1 of a 3 hotel, 3 night exploratory stay while visiting relatives in this city. I stayed at this property around the same time last year. ||The inn is very simple: beds, towels, hot water shower, basic amenities. We checked in very late without reservations but were glad to have a room. 2 singles easily pushed together to make a queen bed.||Wifi was easily accessible with decent speed. Cable TV had very good selection.||There is a decent restaurant next door but need to check what time they close. In room dining or drinks would be instant cup noodles and snacks.||Rooms facing road are noisy due to loud vehicle and motorcycle exhaust pipe sounds from 6am onwards. Please request a high floor, rear facing room for a quieter experience.||Check in was quick, nothing memorable. ||Out of the 3 hotels this had the cheapest, basic level room at PHP1,200 per night. ||Overall: if you need a simple, relatively clean, convenient , ample parking, room for the night that is NOT a motel-type property this is ranked 2 of 3 out of my room...
