PHILIPPA'S B&B PENSION HOUSE — Hotel in Iloilo City

We enjoyed our stay! Feel like home :) We booked here for 6 days and 5 nights - 2 rooms (2nd floor and 3rd floor).

Staff - Very approachable and friendly. Staff are also helpful. Once you open the door of your car / taxi, someone will welcome you and check if they need to carry something going to your room.

Wifi / Internet access - Speed is very decent. It reaches around 200mbps in first floor, 100 to 150mbps in second floor (they are using pldt fiber). Although, If your room is in the 3rd floor, the speed is not too fast i think the fastest speed is 5mbps. I suggest to extend their wifi mesh and seek professional help what router they need to use (they are using decent wifi mesh but for me it was not properly placed, 2 mesh placed in 2nd floor, and a regular router in 3rd floor). If you plan to use your mobile data, Globe and Smart has an average signal (2 to 3 bars) - Speed for Globe is around 6 to 10mbps while in Smart is around 60 to 80 mbps.

Hotel facilities - They have generators! Iloilo is experiencing rotational brownouts and we are lucky that they have generators that can support all rooms.

Food - They are serving good foods. Try their chicken curry! We also ordered their silogs, all are sulit except lang sa longganissa. hehehe. medyo maliit yung longganissa :) Grab Food and Food Panda is accessible. They only have a rule na you need to consume that sa room and not sa lobby (dinning area). For us kasi we think na its risky na matapon sa bed or room, then it might cause some smell. Hope they can consider allowing outside food in the dining area.

Rooms - Good for its price :) Comfy ang bed and pillows nila. Although, yung isang pilow may red stain. pero feeling namin stain na sya and nalabhan naman. hehe. pero sana malinis and quality check nila yung mga bedsheets and cover. TV on our rooms are smart TV's pero sa 3rd floor room namin, di namin magamit dahil bumibitaw yung wifi. nag didisconnect sya. So we just used our own cellphones. hehe! Aircon is good and the lights are all working kaya ang liwanag and they are using white and warm tone kaya feeling cozy if you gusto mo.

Bathroom - Need some improvement. They have bidet and the water splash is really good! They also have water heater that is working as expected. They also have clothes hanger inside. Few concerns / suggestion - a. Shower head, need to clean because wala nang lumalabas na tubig sa ibang butas. Kaya tiis ng konti sa water. b. Water flow - water is spilling to other area of the bathroom. I think they need to offer a rags sa floor.

Location - Easy access, we got a chance to explore the city on our own and transportation is very accessible. Taxi, Jeepney, Tricycle and grab.

Overall, we had a great experience here!...

Stayed at Philippa’s BnB Pension in Iloilo .I checked in late, around 9–10 PM, and they still accommodated me without any issue. Really appreciated that after a long day on the road. Room was clean, comfy, and had everything I needed for a quick stay. Staff were helpful and friendly, making the whole process smooth. Nothing fancy, but it’s the kind of place that just works when you need a clean bed, a hot shower, and zero hassle.

Rooms range from ₱900 to ₱1,300. Recommend booking online. much more convenient, especially if you’re arriving...

Hotel is good, accommodation clean and no problems, breakfast very good.

Only one thing i didn’t like. We arrived at 1pm, receptionist confirmed my room was ready. But check in is at 2pm. THEY REALLY WANTED ME WAIT ONE HOUR FOR NOTHING. Or pay a fee. I decided to wait and order grab food. BUT NO EATING OWN FOOD IS ALLOWED at the lobby. F* off guys. YOU CAN’T TREAT YOUR GUEST THIS WAY IF YOU WANT THEM GO BACK.

I understand early check in fee for early arriving like 8 or 10am. But 1pm? Many hotels give me one...
