I stayed for three nights in February 2018 on business and on that basis it did its job; it was cheap and somewhere to sleep. Apart from this, it is nothing special. It’s location is good for the very few amenities that Maasin provides. It is close to some 24/7 places to eat such as Mr. Wok and Jollie Bees as well as bakeries as it is in one of the two main roads through Maasin. It is about a 20 minutes walk from the bus station if you walk by the ocean. ||The room itself was, well, a box to put it simply. I booked a twin room because it was on offer despite it just being myself which was needed due to very minimum hanging or storage space but I got by with my clothes etc. On the opposite bed. There is a toilet and shower however it is tiny. The best way I can describe the toilet was that my forehead was basically resting against the wall as I was using it - so not one for people who are on the taller side (I am 5’11). It was cleanish with lots of grime in the bathroom but I had no issues using it. The sheets were clean however some stains on the towels so I opted to use my own. The receptionist(s) were nice guys who pointed me in directions for food etc. |There was no window in the room but a blind covering some very dirty large skates and you can hear the karaoke bar st night, so I had to fashion some earplugs out of toilet paper - bring ear plugs! ||The room functioned as room with a bed and nothing more. The 3 stars awarded are for its cheapness (£20 for 3 nights) and it’s...
Read moreUnfortunately, I consider my stay at this hotel to be unpleasant. There were issues about people manning the front desk. While I understand said hotel to be a budget hotel, still standards should||be maintained as regards grooming and friendliness of hotel employees. Two incidents of concern. The first one involved my arrival at the hotel. After the long trip and carrying a backpack and a bag, I was assigned a 3rd floor room but no offer of assistance was given to bring at least any of the bags.||||The second incident happened after settling in. I noticed the bathroom was wet due to a leaking bathroom sink. Had to put the trash can underneath to keep the bathroom dry. The leaking sink was reported to the front desk and I was assured that the leak will be fixed.||||Day 2: bathroom sink continued to leak. After going down to report, I was surprised to find the person assigned at the front desk shirtless. After again reporting about the leaking bathroom sink, all I got was a stare. ||||Upon my return from a tour that day, I was again greeted by the leaking sink inside my room. No attempt at all by the hotel to address my concern. Though I still had a night left, I packed my bags and...
Read moreI stayed in a room with 2 single beds with an electric fan for Php 475. It was on the 3rd floor, and even though the staff saw I was having trouble with my luggage, they didn't help me with it. Wifi was okay. They used an industrial type fan. ||||The TV was small. It would've been okay if the screen didn't keep flickering. It also kept changing the channels like it was possessed. It would not respond to any remote. It had cable though, just jump up when it starts to fly through all those channels like crazy.||||The room had windows with giant blinds that kept banging on the wall when I turned on the fan. I stuck pieces of tissue paper on both ends to make it quieter. Before that, I saw little bits of tissue on there, so I guess other guests had the same idea.||||The bathroom was smaller than a broom closet. I'm not even kidding. Sit sideways while you use the toilet, 'cause I did, and I'm a small woman. The shower is low, but the water is strong.||||Why did it have 3 stars? It was cheap, so that's...
