Wish we could live here! Since we came in January, the climate is quite cold. So we rarely got to swim in the pool and beach. BUT thank goodness for the heated jacuzzi! 5 stars for the service, ambience, accommodations, deliciousness of the restaurant's food, facilities, PWD access, amenities, warmth of the Management & Staff. The shore right in front of the resort is cleared of floating structures and sand area is cleaned every morning. Sadly, not the entire beachfront of Matabungkay Beach is clean. Guests of neighboring resorts aren't as careful and responsible with their trash. Very offputting and disappointing. Security in the resort is good too. We felt safe. But just be careful and wary of Vendors by the beachfront. They can be quite "persistent". There are a few convenience stores nearby. The resort also has a Spa/Massage Services area. They also have a few board games, a billiard table, huge TV perfect for watching sports games, a well stocked Bar, contacts to nearby golf courses, etc. The premier garden view room we stayed in is quite nice. The bamboo furniture brings simplicity but every detail is well thought of. Everything was conceived with the guests' comfort in mind. This is felt all over the resort. The TV cable channels are quite extensive and clear. Although Smart, Globe, etc signals are weak in the area, the free wifi is a bit good inside the rooms. Especially stronger when you're at the restaurant area. The Toilet & Bath in our room is spacious. We appreciated the hot water & strong water pressure. We enjoyed tge food from the restaurant. Although the cost of food is a bit high, it makes up for huge, delicious servings/portions that are good enough for 2 people. So good value anyway. For us, the place feels very intimate, relaxing and private. It feels homey yet you get that resort experience. We would definitely come back once Matabungkay Beach's local government do something about the beach front's cleanliness. Resorts that are mindful of the environment, responsible and careful in their effects to the community, like Coral Beach Club, are being affected by the irresponsible actions of others. It is the responsibility of the local government, community, neighboring resorts, locals and guests to care for Matabungkay Beach's cleanliness anyway. Put those Environmental...
Read moreRooms ⭐⭐⭐ - Just a mediocre. There are leaks on faucet. Water from the heater is not getting warmer than 25°C. Good ventilation.
Facilities ⭐⭐ - Jacuzzi is not even warm. Electrical supply is not stable. Wi-fi is weak. Cable signal sucks, good thing that we were still able to watch NBA finals but after that... Other than those, we haven't checked because it's raining hard althoughout our stay.
Value for money ⭐- My friend booked for 2 deluxe room for 2 nights and paid approximately Php 18000 through Agoda. It was not clear that we have 2 pay for 2 extra person for Php 1600/night = Php 6400! We should've get another room if we paid that much. I have no idea how they settle it or if it was settled.
Foods ⭐⭐ - Quite expensive. And looking on their menu, there is nothing special on it (just a feedback from someone who knows how to cook GOOD food). We prefer to get food outside BUT...(check the next item)
Customer Service ⭐ - (This is quite long, above all I think they have to improve these). There are arguments about the number of people allowed in a room and how much we have to pay on the top of what we paid in Agoda, there was no sense of booking the rooms in advanced if there such things going around from the receptionists up until to their management. We were not even allowed even bring outside foods and we were accused that we cooked it inside our room but we managed to brought foods inside because we don't want to get hungry of course. We were asked by the staffs MULTIPLE TIMES if what is our total headcount for unkown reason but that one was a bit annoying. We are getting complaints from the manager himself because he cannot sleep due to our "noise" which we are totally on control (except for our first night because we gone really crazy). Rain drops are even louder than our "noise". And one thing I personally didn't like is how we were approached by the guard on duty "Sir, paki hinaan lang po. May nagrereklamo, amerikano kase yun." (Sir, can you please tone down, there were complains. He is American) - I don't care if what is their nationality, race, social status or what, just let us know if we are causing trouble that's it - we're in the Philippines. We were just trying to enjoy despite of the bad weather, I hope they will take considerations about it.
Overall ⭐⭐ -...
Read moreMy wife and I had a pleasant Valentine's Day excursion at the Coral Beach Club and I will say a bit more about the resort than I usually do.||Our first reaction was that there is a lot stuffed into a relatively small space—six buildings with 26 guest rooms, a dining/recreation area, a pool/jacuzzi complex, and a parking area—in 2200 square meters with a 40 meter beach front. Closer observation showed that the resort is well laid out and the plan produces a family-friendly resort with something to entertain virtually all guests. Plus, the resort does not offer day passes so the facilities are never overloaded. ||As we settled in, we noticed that our room and the facilities are exceptionally clean and well maintained. Linens and towels appear fresh and new, while necessary items (water, instant coffee, soap, shampoo, toothpaste) were delivered to our room every morning.||The resort fronts on a public beach which is swept twice a day. Uniformed security officers prevent loitering, while vendors promoting banana boat rides, snorkeling, and floating bamboo platform rentals are courteous and helpful. Prices seem to be set by the LGU so there isn't much point in negotiating and there is little danger of being over charged. We rented a floating bamboo platform for a day (P1500) and couldn't have been happier. When necessary, the vendor trooped to the store for us and moved our platform on request so we could see more of the coral,||The dining/recreation area deserves special mention. The staff are uniformly friendly and helpful, and the menu is a delight. There are items for every taste and budget: kiddie hot dogs up to adult priced steaks (which are imported from the United States). For Valentine's dinner, my wife had a tasty rib eye steak while I enjoyed a wonderful salmon filet. Breakfasts were included with our package and my wife and I both enjoyed the Full American Breakfast. Staff members were able to add a couple extra pieces of toast and an extra cup of coffee when I asked. ||The facilities are smoke free, but designated smoking areas are conveniently located throughout.||Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return with...
