We traveled to have mass at Manaoag Church. Since it was a hot summer day, we decided to go to the beach. San Fabian is the nearest and accessible via public transportation. We took a tricycle from San Fabian Church and the driver took us to Boating World Amianan Resort -- now named Grey Sands Beach Resort. ||||We told them we will stay for a day trip but the receptionist doesnt know the rate for day trip. We are charged for an overnight stay. She said she will ask their boss for the rate but apparently she failed to relay it to the next receptionist on duty so no change in the our rate was made. ||||We asked the Kitchen if we can borrow some utensils like knife and plate -- but we were informed that we had to buy their knife, no rental, cannot borrow. ||We asked if we can get some drinking water -- they said yes ONLY if we buy food from their restaurant. ||No choice, we had to buy food. We ordered grilled pork belly -- taste is good but served in a very small portion. Their Pinakbet is also good. ||||It is a plus because they have swimming pool for adults and kids. But that day -- if you've been to other public swimming pool -- you know that their water needs to be changed. It feels it has not been treated for few days. ||||The only good point is their new airconditioning unit in the cottage. BUT at noon, we experienced a brownout for 2 hours and they have no generator. We were literally toasted in their room which is a container van turned room.||||We were the only guests that day and we didnt feel welcome at all. Management changed the name of the resort, but I think they also need to change how they treat their guests. ||||I didnt get the value of my money. The bathroom needs...
Read moreThis is the 4th time we've been to this resort. Every time we visit Manaoag Church, we end up going to to Grey Sands (Formerly Boating World) to relax and complete the trip. there are other areas in Pangasinan which have beautiful beaches and accommodation - Patar, hundred islands, etc., but we always go to Grey Sands because we have children with us - the pace is secured and the room we rent is very much private. The beach is covered with grey (looks black when wet) sands, the water is not that clear but well maintained and clean. The good thing with syatying here is that the "ancient" members of our family have something to do because the waters are rich with fishes and sea clams. The younger folks can concentrate on having fun and relaxing while the older member of the family are busy collecting clams, shellfish and stones - which will be cooked and served for dinner.||||The resort have secured and covered parking spaces, guarded 24 hours and the rooms are isolated and private. our parents cooks and prepares food, the room are air-conditioned to our satisfaction and well groomed for relaxation. ||||we usually get big discount since we're here every December, staff are accommodating and friendly - not much to eat or order in the resort pantry but the idea of staying here is to fix your own food and bond...
Read moreOK, I want to be fair. We brought our family up for a pool day and lunch. The girl at the front desk had no manners--no thank you or you're welcome. We paid 150 peso per person for a dirty pool and very rude staff and customers. The pool is very dirty, probably because of the number of young kids peeing in the pool. There are far too many unsupervised kids in the adult pool. There are adults smoking around the pool deck. Kids climbing over the railings. Kids jumping off of the sides without care for who is there. The older boys began to use the slide that was roped off. I went into the office and told the desk girl about the pool situation. Of course, she had no concern until I reminded her that if one of my kids were to get hurt, I would sue the owners and managers, and the staff would lose their jobs. Then a large group of young men showed up. They played their music too loud and wanted the dominated the pool. I don't have anything better to say about the resort and pool. I will never bring my...
