If I Could Give 10 Stars, I Would!
We had such an amazing stay at Kahel Resort! If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway in La Union, this is the perfect place. It’s just a short 3-5 minute drive to the surfing town, but far enough that you can truly unwind. Since I had kids with me, I wanted a peaceful spot, and this was exactly what I was looking for.
Super clean and comfortable rooms. The room was spotless and had everything we needed—complete toiletries, an extra mattress, a clean bathroom with a bidet and hot/cold shower, strong WiFi, and even free coffee and water.
Amazing customer service. Every single staff member—from the guards to the receptionists, room attendants, and restaurant staff—was so friendly and attentive. They made sure we were well taken care of the entire time.
Nice pool and kid-friendly touches. There’s only one pool, but it’s more than enough since they only accommodate a small number of guests. Plus, they have plenty of floaters for the kids, which was a huge plus!
The food is the star of the show. Hands down, the best part of this resort! Every dish we tried was a hit, but their baked longganisa and tortang talong were on another level. The food was not just delicious—it was beautifully presented too!
Feels like you have the beach to yourself. Since the area isn’t crowded, it almost felt like we had a private beach. It was peaceful and perfect for relaxing.
Refreshing welcome drinks. A small touch, but it made us feel so welcome.
Enough parking space. No need to worry about where to park your car.
Overall, Kahel Resort exceeded my expectations. It’s the perfect mix of comfort, great service, and amazing food. We’ll definitely be back! If you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay in La Union, this is the...
Read moreI was surprised to find out that by 11pm, there are no staff that are left in the property. Not even the front desk or any kind of guest assistance. Given Kahel’s price point, I think it wasn’t unreasonable to assume that there would at least be some staff to man the property overnight.||I came as a solo traveler and when I noticed that all other guests in the property checked out one afternoon, I inquired and realized I would be left alone in the whole property come nighttime until they return at 7am. Given this, I decided to transfer to a more secure resort despite them refusing to refund my remaining nights after expressing my concerns. I wish this was something they were at least transparent about because I wouldn’t have booked with them if I knew this beforehand.||Please note that although there’s a gate from the side of the main road, the property is openly accessible from the beach. If no one is manning the property, literally anyone from the beach could go inside Kahel’s premises and have access to the Garden View rooms. There are no doors or partitions that can stop anyone from going up to the Sea View rooms’ hallway either. ||I do not recommend this resort for solo travelers, let alone female solo travelers. This is probably less of an issue if you’ll come as a group, but if you’re spending that amount for a stay at LU, why not book with a more secure resort that actually invests in 24/7 staff and stronger security measures?||What’s good about Kahel though is their restaurant. They have great food and waiters/waitresses. I would suggest to drop by for meals but staying here as an in-house guest is...
Read moreFiance and I stayed here for vacation per recommendation from a colleague.
Location is a few km away from the night life so if you prefer your San Juan resort to be walking distance from the crowds, this resort might not be for you. But if you prefer a more quiet and private place to relax and unwind, this is perfect. We also only travelled by bus so we had to take another tricycle to get to the resort.
Had a problem on our first night but the management was very understanding and generous of their compensation. Rooms have a modern design with complete amenities! Even their fridge was 2-3x the size of the standard fridge in most hotels. Was not expecting those since it's a small size hotel with less than 15 rooms I think.
The very highlight in our stay is the food which is just THE BEST. Portion sizes were huge like 2-3 servings per dish considering also the price. Afam fiance is a foodie who loves to cook said food here was the best he tried here in the PH. We ordered same food on different days and the taste and quality were always consistent. Too bad they had limited menu for desserts, but that's just me lol.
Would also praise the staff because ALL of them were very friendly and attentive. Their English was also very good which is of course not a must but very noteworthy. Their energy doesn't seem to differ throughout their shift as if they really enjoy their job. None of them were rude or "nangmamata" but the exact opposite (coming from experience from other "high-end" restaurants/bars).
Kahel Resort is a definite recommended resort in LU. Even if you're not staying overnight, the restaurant is...
