We cannot recommend staying at Ligaya for a number of reasons. First of all, the owner is out to cheat you, as well as the town of Sagada. The hotel is quite far from the city center, so be prepared to either pay the owner to drive you or walk 20 minutes to access the tours and restaurants (and the walk back means trying to avoid terrifying dogs). At first, the owner told us that a ride back from town would cost 100php, then when we arrived he tried to charge us 150. Basically he's trying to profit off of having an incredibly inconveniently located hotel. We forgave him the first time, but then he tried to up-charge us AGAIN. He drove us and another couple to the lake for sunset, told us it would cost 250php per couple, then afterward tried to charge us 275. ||||In short, you agree on a price and he increases it when you're already in the car. ||||He also tries to tell you that he'll give you a discount if you take the tours with him instead of the town. We went with the town tours, but we asked others staying at the hotel how much they paid him -- it's exactly the same as what the town charges, then more if you add his sudden dishonest price hike. So basically he's cheating the town and cheating you simultaneously. There are much more convenient places to stay in Sagada with hopefully a great deal more integrity.||||Finally, when we got to the room, the toilet seat had water on it and red stains, like someone just threw some water over it without bothering to wipe it down, and there were dirty q-tips just hanging out. One of the least pleasant stays...
Read moreWe stayed in Sagada right after Christmas. The sleepy town was full to the seam with tourists. Even if I thought to reserve a month early, the closest inn I could get hold of was a kilometer away from the town proper. But it turned out to be a good decision. Ligaya's was situated on a small hill with newly built cottages. They have a one big traditional cottage that can accommodate big groups. When taking pictures outside, the place seems to have gotten straight out of LOTR's The Shire. Once illuminated by the sun's rays, it is quite picturesque. Also, the place is very tranquil; it's perfect if you want the Sagada vibe.||For the price and quality of accommodations (Sagada standards), I think it is worth your money. The downside is the distance from the town, but if you are up for good hike, that's a minor consideration. What may be more substantial is the lack of eateries or restaurants nearby. So if you want to have dinner, you either get packed food in advance or you dine in the town and brave the long walk in the dark. For those with cars, this would not be a problem.||Tip: During our stay, I hired the owner's van to take us to and from the town. The owners are very...
Read moreI have never experienced an excellent service way better than Ligaya's!||The owner is very thoughtful and accomodating. When we went there, we camped on our first night. The owners checked on us to see if we have everything we need. The whole family even helped to lend us pillows, mattress and blankets (which by the way smelled so good). T&B are clean and all got hot shower. The kubo like place where we stayed for the rest of our trip is clean and homey. best vacation so far!||Ligaya's Inn though is a little far from town proper. A good 30 to 40 minute walk and around 5 to 10 minute drive. But if you prefer peace while your at Sagada, Ligaya is the best...
