One of 3 hotels in Vigan that was recommended by family members, this was the only one that had availability. So we hoped/prayed it would be decent. Upon arrival, we were disappointed with its distance in proximity to the town center.||Its grounds and curb appeal did not resemble its online appearance. We received a warm and friendly greeting and had much needed help with our bags as there were no elevators.||Our standard double was very small; we moved to another room because the a/c was not very good. Our 2nd room a/c was very good, but had a musty smell. There are no in-room safes, refrigerator or ice machines. They prolly need to do a room inspection before releasing room because I had to call down for TP & towels. You should upgrade to include wash cloths, bedside lamps that works, a better wall mirror and bathroom fixtures that are not rusty. ||My kid's first standard twin room was unacceptable because it was dirty and had no toilet seat. They were moved to a standard triple, but I requested another move because we needed stronger WiFi for remote work. Their third room, the following day, was much better.||There is a restaurant on site that is limited in menu options and availability.||We appreciated the filtered water cooler availability.||Overall, the staff was patient, kind and very accommodating. They did try very hard to make sure we were comfortable and addressed our concerns. Shout out to Rush, who is awesome and the reason I increased my review from 1 to 3 stars It is because of Rush and the staff that I do recommend Hotel Metro Vigan to anyone who can overlook my concerns that I mentioned and doesn't require a safe, and/or additional...
Read moreIt is not close to the historic sites in Vigan - a walk of 20 min or a tricycle ride of 5 to 10 min (30 PHP during day, 50 PHP at night). We wanted to spend two nights there but cancelled the second already shortly after arrival: Wifi was not working in the room and continental breakfast was subject to an extra charge (and at the end except of the pancakes not eatable). Moreover construction noise from the courtyard was disturbing in the early morning, room was dark and not at all "deluxe". More than that the bathroom was obviously not cleaned since hair was to be found on the toilet. The shower's water regulation was not working neither.
What should be mentioned positively is the staff who was friendly and willing to help and make the stay as convenient as possible.
All in all, if you want to visit the old city of Vigan better stay at one of the hotels close to it. The experience we had was disappointing, although the hotel was fairly cheap compared to...
Read moreChose this hotel because I was on a budget, on a business trip, and had been to the Vigan attractions on previous trips. In short, I was just there to rest after a long day of work.||||This hotel is inexpensive, compared to other hotels in Vigan proper. Location is quiet except for the noise from the trikes but it is relatively distant from the Vigan attractions.||||Room was pretty okay, cable tv reception was not clear. I found the wash basin too low for my height, and there was a wooden shelf obstruction that made it difficult for me to bend. ||||Staff were accommodating and nice. ||||Please note that there is an ongoing construction for their expansion that starts...
