Manzil Anilao B&B — Hotel in Mabini

The accommodation was very clean. It had all of the amenities that you would need. The host, Jen, and cleaning staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. There was a kitchen with a sink, gas burner stove, fridge and a little sitting room area with a sofa and TV. We didn't fully master how to access the television, but I'm sure somebody who's more technically competent would be able to do that. The bedrooms and beds were comfortable and clean, 1 double bed and one single bed. The air con was loud, but my experience is that that was usually the case in PH. I found that using wax earplugs was quite effective in blocking out the noise of the air con. The location is convenient for the beach, about a 5-minute walk away and very good for ordinary swimming. There's a market in the harbour. You can get fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, and that's open from 4:00am in the morning. Also nearby in the Anilao and Mabini areas, there's a couple of resorts further up the coast. We visited the Netanya resort where you can drink a lovely iced tea to die for. We went to the Phill-Ann resort, I wouldn't necessarily recommend, but we did kayaking there and it served its purpose. At the Anilao harbour, there's a ferry to the nearest small island and we travelled there on the 8AM ferry to Tingloy on the island. Then got a tricycle to Masasa beach which is a lovely clean beach on the far side of the island. All in all, I was very satisfied with the accommodation. It was convenient and had everything I needed. I'm on a specific medical food plan, so it was important for me to be able to clean, prepare and cook my food. I would recommend the Manzil, Anilao if you want a short break away from the city and certainly just staying in Anilao is fine. The beach is perfectly adequate for spending the day relaxing.

We went here for a 2 night stay. Overall experience was excellent. The location is easy to find and we just commute from Manila. It is also 3 mins away from the beach and wet market so if you want to cook your own meal you may do so. The cooking tools are readily available which was very convenient. We decided just to enjoy the common beach area which was also walking distance. The beach did not disappoint as well. The cleanliness was also being maintained by the residents. The unit is sooo clean, it's spotless. The staff are so helpful and friendly they even helped us with setting up a mini birthday surprise for one of us. The unit is spacious enough for our group and we really had a very comfortable stay. The whole unit is airconditioned even the sala. The shower has a heater and has good water pressure.
