Regrettably Disappointing Experience
My Girlfriend and I were in search of a day tour resort where we could unwind by the beach after our Gulugod Baboy hiking trip. Being just the two of us, we contacted several resorts around Gulugod Baboy. Some offered us a rate of 150 pesos per person with a 200-peso tent pitching fee, providing amenities such as pools, a tree line, and other facilities within that price range. Although this seemed quite affordable, we were on a tight budget and continued our search until we stumbled upon Bisa Bayside Resort. They offered the same pricing but with the added incentive of free tent pitching, which ultimately led us to choose this resort.
Upon arrival, I showed the receptionist our conversation where the free tent pitching was discussed. However, to our surprise, we were still charged for the tent pitching fee despite being promised it would be free.
The disappointment stemmed from the discrepancy between what was promised and what was delivered. We wish we had chosen another resort that offered better services. Below are the pros and cons based on our experience:
Pros: The area is aesthetically pleasing with rocky side hills perfect for hiking.
Cons: Firstly, we were unable to leave the resort due to the distance and challenging terrain, including steep uphills and downhills, and a short off-road section. It felt unsafe for vehicles not equipped to handle such conditions. Additionally, the resort is far from the city center, making it inconvenient for return visits. I recommend finding a resort that is more accessible. There were no trash bins in the resort area. As we were leaving, we looked for bins but found none, This is maybe the reason why the resort is a bit dirty. While the bathrooms were decent, they were not as clean as expected. The beach was rocky and filled with seaweed, making it less enjoyable for swimming, especially for children. Be cautious of sea urchins; if you're looking for a sandy beach, this is not the place. Certain areas of the beach were littered and unkempt, prompting us to find cleaner spots for swimming. We ended up bathing not in front of the beach resort but on the other side near the hills, where the sand was finer, unlike the rocky and seaweed-covered shore in front of the resort. The resort was excessively hot, especially since there were no shaded areas due to the lack of trees. This made our tent pitching fee useless as we couldn't use the tent. There were also limited places to relax unless you paid for a cottage, making it less ideal for couples and DIY travelers. In the end, we opted to leave our belongings in the tent and spent our time outside the resort on the neighboring beach side, where there was more shade from trees.
In summary, Bisa Bayside Resort fell short of our expectations. We recommend exploring other options for a more enjoyable and hassle-free beach experience.
