Shangrila Boracay is unlike any other part of the island. The place itself is serene and beautiful, but what truly made our stay unforgettable were the people who went above and beyond for us. I want to mention their full names because of the impeccable service they provided, the kind that leaves a lasting impression.||Mark Dominique Andal gave us the warmest welcome. From the very start, he set the perfect mood for our stay with his genuine smile and attentiveness. He made us feel at home right away and really set the tone for the days ahead.||Rey Sia took us on a tour around the resort and it was such a memorable part of our trip. He shared stories with pride, was knowledgeable and friendly, and his energy made us appreciate the resort even more.||Reymar Nalagay assisted us during checkout, and this was one of the moments that truly stood out. At many places, checkout feels rushed and impersonal, but he turned it into a thoughtful and smooth experience. His care and attention left us with such a positive last impression as we left.||Nico Vijante at the pool bar made our poolside time extra special. He was funny, attentive, and always made sure we had everything we needed. His energy and friendliness brought joy and comfort while we relaxed by the water.||These four people are the reason our stay at Shangrila felt so personal and unforgettable. TA Review: Lunch Site Inspection for Birthday Possible 20 Room Block: |Answer: NO Way||High Points: the lobby fountains; gardens, swings, foliage, view, private beach (tiny); manicured gardens and area||Low Points: the boutiques are almost all concessions and unfortunately take the same lunch times so that when one is closed, they are ALL closed, and that dramatically decreases day sales; the Korean Soo store has a sign done in crayons that stands out like an unprofessional sore child's thumb, the beach bar staff offers smiles but super slow service between checking their cellphones onsite in view of guests (see photos); one avocado "bruschetta" (read: raw bread, not even toasted) came after 30 minutes with peppers to which we have allergies (nobody asked "any food allergies here?"); no prosecco for spritz offered at this bar; we sat in lobby bar for a drink but nobody came to serve us, hence we went to the pool bar to sit oceanfront; couches on the cattle-call "check in and check out" lobby areas had clear scotch tape in places on their armrests-- clearly a time to refurb and replace||*Unique Points: some views will show a public beach (NOT the nicer sand of Boracay farther south) and most affordable rooms have garden views of shrubs blocking the sea (like Discovery, overgrown and not maintained low to promote visibility); this hotel is REMOTE...

Our family’s stay at Shangri-La Boracay was exceptional in every sense. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our trip seamless, thoughtful, and deeply personal.

My grandfather, who is wheelchair-bound and visually impaired, was treated with such respect and compassion that it truly touched our hearts. Every restaurant, buggy transfer, and villa detail was carefully managed to ensure his comfort — never once did accessibility feel like a challenge.

We would especially like to thank Mr. John Michael Yanguer, who was the heart of our experience. His professionalism, kindness, and genuine care made our stay unforgettable. Because of his thoughtful service, we decided to upgrade to a Two-Bedroom Villa, which became a wonderful surprise for my parents and the highlight of our trip.
