Havendwell Beach Resort — Hotel in Mambajao

The rooms and especially the bathrooms are old and run down, the chipboard furniture old and tatty worn. While it is true of many places are still recovering and dealing with maintenance issues after the pandemic, I think Havendwell was somewhat neglected prior to the pandemic.

Despite the rooms looking nothing like their listing photos and taking into consideration the above comments, the rooms were still relatively comfortable...for a short stay!

The breakfast was tasty and plentiful.

The staff, led by Rose were great and did everything possible to make our stay a comfortable one.

As someone who has managed 3 to 5 star resorts and hotels for 30 years it must be made clear that this is NOT a resort despite it being called a "resort". This is just a simple apartment-type building with a single shared balcony that overlooks the roof of the covered...

Quite far from Mambajao, and the Benone port available, the hotel has only 5 or 6 rooms but spacious and on a balcony facing the sea. Kind of an old villa, with a restaurant next door and direct access to a beach of black sand like all around tge island, it faces too a White Island we see far away which name comes from white sand piece of land isolated in the sea 2kms from Camiguin. Nice help from the girl in reception that can fry some eggs just in case as there ardn't too many food choices around. Mini fridge, kettle to boil water, sufficient bathroom but Wifi abd AC ok. 400php for 24h rental on motorbike makes it more expensive than other islands but 1 day is enough to see all...

Usual scam either from Agoda or from owners. Room description/booking confirmation: "free breakfast, welcome drink, tea & coffee". Then there was no breakfast, no welcome drink and only a coffee on request. Agoda says they don't care, hotel says "not included".

Pros: girls at the reception were very nice and helpful, easy motorela commute to Mambajao.

Cons: you don't get what you paid for, bathroom sink clogged (doesn't flow out), the whole area is full of stray dogs barking whole night, swimming is only possible...
