From outside appearances this looks like the nicest hotel on the island, the pool is very nice and the location is great, however during our six night stay, we started in room 104 and after one night the floor drain in the bathroom was erupting with raw sewerage, they didn’t have a room to move us to immediately nor could they fix the problem so later that afternoon we moved to room 212, that room was in a really bad location overlooking souvenir shops at the very back of the hotel when I paid for a premium room, it also transitioned us from a king size bed to two double beds which holes were very worn, the room was hot because of the amount of sun and it was a larger room but the air conditioning unit could not keep up, the next day we were moved to room 204 which was a nice room but the hotel did not seem to do anything in a concession for that, room 204 still smelled like sewage in the bathroom but it was manageable, the service in the restaurant was horrible, they would serve you once but if you wanted to get a refill on water, it was like pulling teeth, they just didn’t come back and you had to flag them down, they added a 10% service charge to the bill so there was no incentive for them to come back, what really deserve this one star rating was upon check out, when I checked in I asked them if breakfast is included and they said no and I asked them if I could charge to a credit card when I check out in the answer was yes we take credit cards, upon checking out my incidentals and room charges were 21,000 pesos, a woman at the front desk tried to run my credit card about six times and clearly their credit card machine was off-line, I suggested that they take a picture of my credit card and run it through later and they said they cannot do that and they have no way of hand entering a credit card and I was getting late for my flight out of there, they told me I could not leave until I paid my bill in full and I said I don’t have those pesos on me and you told me you took a credit card there’s gonna be a back up plan, there was no back up plan so I said last chance take a picture of my credit card or I’m leaving I had transportation arranged, I got on a bus with my luggage and my girlfriend and we were detained immediately by their security guard so we could not leave the hotel, then as a last attempt I suggested that the hotel person come with me to an ATM, we went to two ATMs and they were also down and off-line, we were very late for our flight and had to hurry through the airport and finally the guy agreed to take a picture of our credit card we were overcharged for the taxi ride and I miserable way to exit the hotel. The staff and leader ship at that hotel should be ashamed I would not stay there again know what I recommend...
