No one warned me this “resort” doubles as a horror movie set. 🎬💀

Picture this: it’s sunset, luggage in hand, I’m walking toward what I thought was a peaceful getaway. The road narrows, the trees start whispering, and then—surprise!—a cemetery. Yep, you literally have to pass by tombs just to reach the resort. The only thing missing was a background scream and rolling credits.

At first, I told myself, Okay, maybe it’s worth it. The rooms had an old-world vibe—like history lives here. Turns out, that “history” might actually still be living next door. We booked rooms without air-conditioning (rookie mistake). Within minutes, I was melting faster than my patience. The fans looked like museum pieces—beautiful to look at, completely useless for survival.

Then came breakfast. I was served two tiny bacon strips and a pinch of scrambled eggs that looked like someone whispered “breakfast” over the plate and left. I glanced at the next table—they had a mountain of food! I wasn’t sure if I should ask for more or just accept that the spirits probably took my share.

Now, credit to the owner—he’s warm, accommodating, and genuinely kind. Honestly, the only light in this story that didn’t come from a tomb candle.

But nighttime… oh, nighttime is where things get interesting. No streetlights. Just the glow of candles flickering on tombs, dancing in the dark like ghosts hosting a vigil. My friends had to play worship songs on full volume just to make it back to the room without sprinting. It was less “resort stay” and more “trial of faith.”

So yeah, my rating? Consider it a mix of heat exhaustion, haunted cardio, and breakfast inequality. A memorable stay—for all the wrong, cinematic...

Great value for your money. Backpackers & young couples love it here. For an unbeatable price, you get a native style room or dorm, right on the main clean & sandy beach looking out to white island.

There's a large lounge area with great coffee and a tasy yet simple breakfast menu. The English owner here is famous locally for baking bread & making european cured meats.

Fast internet, strong running water, backup generator, and highly rated dive shop. They also arrange brand new scooter rentals, island tours & volcano hikes.

We love to come here with our son. Its not hot like other resorts because there are many beautiful arching native trees.

The location is very central in the camiguin tourist area, yet its totally peacful day & night located 2 min walk from the main ring road.

Great to see how local native style bamboo/wooden houses are built. Super a relaxing feeling walking around bare...

Had a pleasant stay at Playa del fuego. The owners and staff were attentive to my questions. Props to Axel whose insights helped me in exploring the island and getting to different tourist spots.

With regards to the complimentary meals, i was told beforehand that free breakfast and dinner was included although i wasn’t able to avail the dinner on my first night. It was no issue for me as it presented the opportunity to explore and try out local restos.

I was fortunate enough to join in on a campfire by the beach which made the first night memorable.

The hostel's prime location by the beach offers stunning views of White Island from the shore. Surrounded by abundant trees, the resort exudes a tranquil ambiance, providing ample shade and contributing to a relaxing atmosphere throughout the day.

The formerly known “Action geckos” is now back as “Beach House Resort”! Super cozy and delightful place to stay if you are looking for accommodation right at he beach and between a lot of green nature. Friendly staff and good food (even available when it’s off season, then with a smaller menu but better than nothing right?). The rooms are clean and affordable (from 600 php/2persons). It’s even allowed to bring you own alcohol which you can put in the guest fridge. Even a cattle and a toaster are available for the guests if you feel like having your own breakfast. Beach is 20m walk and so nice for morning swimming, noon sunbaths and sunsets - as you can see in the pictures. On top of that: on the property you can find the “black beach divers” which is run by a friendly German who is more than willing to make your diving experience the best on the whole island. Would definitely come here again!

Nice little beach hostel run by Belgian and Filipino family! Staff working there is amazing McCoy the manager was always taking care of us and was so reactive for every of our needs thank you so much! Stephane and Alex running the bar were also so nice and we feel like a part of a family they have Belgium beer, delicious fruited rums everything to relax after your day exploring Camiguin . The BBQ at the beach was fire !!! The location is amazing you will have private access to a large beach with black sand and for the people who like to swim its not shallow at all ! The room was nice we had share bathroom and comfort room and it was really clean. To conclude it's a banger for the price you pay thank you we had a amazing stay we will be back 😊😊
