Jackys Homestay — Hotel in Mambajao

DO NOT BOOK THIS ACCOMMODATION. "I had a reservation at this accommodation from February 27, 2025, to March 4, 2025. Due to a tropical depression, our ferry was canceled and we couldn't go to Camiguin. I informed the owner of the situation, and they charged us the entire reservation, they proposed solution was buy another ferry and a flight from Cebu which suppose double the cost of the hotel. After that they lie saying that they will refund 50% of the reservation and the next day they marked us as a no-show on Booking, and didn't refund anything. I recently stayed at Jackys Homestay and I'm extremely disappointed with my experience. Upon entering my room, I noticed a musty odor and an overall lack of cleanliness. However, the worst was yet to come. During the night, I was horrified to discover a cockroach crawling on my bed. I immediately alerted the front desk, but their response was dismissive and they offered no solution. The property looks exactly like the photos, spacious and in a great location accessible to restaurants, cafes and the main attractions on the island. You will need a motorbike to get around the island, or hire a motorela. The hosts are also lovely, you are provided with filtered water, they gave us fresh calamansi from their tree which was such a kind gesture, arranged our transport to and from the port and have motorbikes on site for you to hire (350 pesos or 450 pesos).
